But how is Obama gonna stop speculators when he is heavily funded by them?
Sorry to say this but Obama and his fellow democrats like the high oil prices or else they would have promoted for domestic drilling.

There's a reason I'm starting this thread. Where I am in Texas I cannot count the number of time I've heard or have read in the paper people making the comment, "I cannot wait for Obama to be elected president so gas prices will go down".
I'm of the opinion, based on the research I've done on oil and gas, that our government has no effect on the price of oil and the price of gas. It's true that McCain's gas tax holiday didn't make much sense, but neither did Hillary's "windfall profit tax" proposition, which proposed to take money from the oil companies and put it into the federal highway fund. I'm of the opnion that oil companies would make that money back by raising prices yet higher.
So I'm interested in hearing from anyone who genuinely believes that Obama will have any effect on the price of gas, one way or another, if he gets elected president. In my opinion, if gas went up or down it would be purely coincidental. But what do you think?
