"BRDO, Slovenia (Reuters) - Measures the European Union is considering against Iran include a freeze of bank assets, European External Relations Commissioner Benita Ferrero-Waldner said on Tuesday.

"We want to indeed show to Iranians that we mean it very seriously. We ... consider additional measures also in the EU. (We are) particularly thinking of asset freezes of banks," Ferrero-Waldner told reporters on the margins of an U.S.-EU summit in Slovenia.

Nothing will be said about the EU doing it because the EU doesn't intend to take the next step and bomb them back to the stone age, just because their leader is apparently "corrupt".

More drum beating against Iran.

The anti-Iran argument always gets me. What's one of the only reasons thrown around for Iran not 'deserving' nuclear power? It hates Israel.

Israel deserves to be hated, and that shouldn't impede a country in its goal for alternate energy and/or self defense.

Alternately: Whenever we hear this story we should also be reminded of a little history concerning Iran. You know, all that pesky overthrowing of the democratically elected government of Iran because it wanted to nationalize its nations oil, and not have to suffer the [economically] draining presence of BP/we felt they were too friendly with the USSR...

...or how the puppet government we then installed did nothing to help its people and helped breed the well-deserved mistrust and ill will.

They are evil though, remember?
