What there is a paid position where all you have to do is label people as racists? What an easy job, a lot of people will do it for free.

Looks like it's allready being done, allthough I doubt the TC is a covert Obama pig as they are a moderator, the messege is clear enough, you are racist if you oppose Obama.

I find this supposition a bit presumptuous. One would have to assume that the only difference is race, is that your assertion? Seems like a 'racist' perception begetting a 'racist' perception.

I'm not saying it's racist. What I'm saying is that there is no policy differences to speak of between Obama and Clinton which would make one any different than the other.

So, if people are moving from Clinton to McCain, what is a policy based reason for doing so?

Many people feel that it makes no sense to go from supporting a candidate who is for womans rights and their right to choice, to a candidate who has staunchly opposed a womans right to choose about her own body.

To move from a candidate who is for Universal Health Care to a Candidate who views this as socialism and subsequently a bad idea, doesn't make much sense at all.

So people are left to assume one of two things. Either these people who claim they are switching from Clinton to McCain are oblivious to policy issues, they are republicans in dem clothing trying to stir up something, OR there is some kind of prejudice behind their actions.

This isn't very presumptuous, it's really one of the only logical reasons why someone would do that.

So I ask you, what would be a good political reason to move from Clinton to McCain?

Spite? (Because of the democratic commission on MI and FL)
Hatred? (Because of something different between Obama and Clinton? Nothing different in policy.. so I wonder what that might be?)
Policy? (I'd love someone to point out a reasonable thought process which involves policy as a basis for changing parties)

That is my point.

Nope.. not that simple.

THe message is, this:

If you are a republican and against Obama... then we know why. There are policy differences between the two parties, and it's not anti Obama as much as it is anti-democrat. Fair enough.

If you are a democrat who is leaving the party because Obama is the Nominee, well then, in many situations it *is* because of racism, or actually prejudice. Can you name a politically rational reason to switch parties in this situation given that Clinton and Obama are 99% the same in policy? Their differences lie primarily in their persona and campaign tactics, thats it. So if not racism, then what?

You ever consider that her supporters are very upset that her candicy was stolen. As you have just alluded to, there was no difference between them except for the obvious reasons, you are the one jumping to the obvious racial difference, while they simply saw her as more qualified with the experience to back it up. I'd say they are just p.o'ed. I'm sure they'll come around for Obama eventually, can they not vent their frustrations without being called racists?

I'm not jumping to any conclusions. However, many of these people who feel that it was stolen have voiced that they feel it was done based on gender. And so make it about the difference between Race and Gender.

Take Harriet Christian of "Inadequate Black Male" fame. She definitely made this about black and white.

Take Geraldine Ferraro ( a much less emotionally erratic response), who kept saying "If he wasn't black he wouldn't have garnered so much support". Yet she forgot about Jesse Jackson, and Al Sharpton.

I agree, some people feel as if the nomination was stolen. I'm at a loss to understand why, but they feel that way. But it's time to get behind our Nominee.

Really, switching parties out of Spite is no different then switching parties due to Prejudice. They both come from very ignorant and erratically emotional reactions.

I for one am not claiming racism in general, but as I have pointed out above, there are many who *are* changing parties due to racism. Can we not call that out for what it is?

Actually you are jumping to conclusions, you say you don't speak for all of them in general but then say you are calling it for what it is based on a couple peoples comments. They never said they didn't like him because he was black, they were pointing out that there are people out there that like him because he is black. You can't yell foul when they point out something so obvious then go and do their bidding by using his race as a shield. Calling it for what it is? What it is, is a bunch of angry people that wanted their candidate to in and are behaving natural as most have always done when their candidate loses.

How is this not jumping to conclusions. You have left out the most important details, their difference lies in much less superficial reasons than persona, tactics and race. Considering BO's lack of experience and poor decision making which he has proven to be almost mentaly challenged in that regard I'd say there are a lot more reasons than your silly excuse. Then what? Thats what?

So the truth comes out. You simply *believe* that

1. He is unexperienced
2. He makes bad decisions

So now I can understand why you would be quick to judge anything the Obama campaign would do as somehow misguided and malicious. Even though, your beliefs are completely *false*.

Obama's cousin Odinga in Kenya is a devout Muslim as are his followers. Odinga's followers are responsible for the killing of Christians and other non-muslims in Kenya in order to gain control of the country. Odinga's people raid Christian churches and set the churches and the parishioners on fire. Obama is a supporter of his cousin.

www.nysun.com...

www.telegraph.co.uk...

Once Odinga takes over Kenya, he has vowed to Muslims to implement Sharia courts.

This is a small glimpse into Obama's background and affiliations.

Obama recently claimed that he had been to "57 states" had "one more to go" but he wasn't going to Alaska and Hawaii because his advisers were against it. That makes 60 states total. There are not 57 or 60 states, but 50 states in the USA. However, there ARE currently 57 MUSLIM STATES.

Obama has Muslims all over the middle east raising support and funds for his campaign. Conflict of interest?

www.2sistersfromtheright.com...

There is terrorism we can see, smell and fear, but there is a new kind of terror invading The United States in the form of Sharia law and finance. Condoning it is civilization suicide. Middle East Muslims are coming to America in record numbers and building hate infidel mosques, buying our corporations, suing us for our traditions, but they and the whole subject of Islam is white noise leaving uninformed Americans about who and what is really peaceful. Where is our investigative press? Any criticism of Islam or their intentions, even though Islamic leaders state their intentions daily around the globe, brings forth a volley of 'racist' from the left-wing Democrat crowd.

Lies and deception behind a master plan - the ingredients for 'The Manchurian Candidate' or the placement of an anti-American President in our nation's White House? Is it mere coincidence that an anti-capitalist run for President at the same time Islamic Sharia finance and law is trying to make advancing strides into the United States? Is it mere coincidence this same candidate wants to disarm our nuclear capability at a time when terrorist Muslim nations are expanding their nuclear weapons capability? Is it mere coincidence this candidate wants to reduce our military at a time of global jihad from Muslim nations?

Change for America? What change? To become another 'nation of Islam'?

Since when is fighting slurs a bad thing? Aren't we about denying ignorance?

Have you seen some of the threads here on ATS about Obama carrying statues of monkey gods and having homosexual affairs? Even the most entrenched republicans have to be taken aback some.

On to the article cited by the OP...
13 per cent of Americans think that Mr Obama is a Muslim — a 5 per cent increase since December 2007. Another found that 23 per cent of Democrats who hold negative views of him believe that he is a Muslim.

This is embarrasing that so many Americans are that gullible and easily manipulted. Not to mention when did being a muslim become a such a horrible thing? We know that a Muslim and an Islamic Extremist aren't the same thing don't we? Regardless Obama is a Christain.

This is Karl Rove's playbook all over again. Appeal to what is worst in us as a people. Play to intolerance, fear and hate...racial, religious, sexual orientation, whatever works. Appeal to our primitive irrational selves. This strategy reflects what those who employ it think of us and how easily we are manipulated and we shouldn't ever tolerate it.

President Lincoln (a repbulican by the way) spoke of "the better angels of our nature" I am voting for the candidate that speaks to what is best in us, not worst.

I think that everyone will agree that Obama's father and stepfather were both muslims. And that he did attend muslim schools at some point in his youth.

So, what is so bad about that, Mr. Obama? Are you ashamed of that? Or is it so easy for you to throw your father and stepfather under the bus, as you did to your white grandmother, your pastor, and your church?

Anyway, this measure sounds dangerously like propaganda or brainwashing. The next step, of course, will be censorship, since many leading Democrats have expressed a desire to re-enact the Fairness Doctrine. :shk:

This ploy by Obama is going to backfire on him, mark my word.

Christ, they make it sound like they're going into outer-space.

Hey world! The Internet Comes in Peace!

I would not be concerned with these "cybernauts".

If someone was able to sneak into Homeland Security (another one of their dumb creations) and defecate all over the place without getting caught, I am not scared of their cyberknuckleheads either.

90 percent of what the government and the wannabe government does is write checks their asses can't cash. They want to scare you, but i for one am not scared. You shouldn't be either.

obama is already sticking his nose where it don't belong. He is already forming "Internet Police" to protect his image.

One thing his investment banker supporters that own the media can't do is combat the intelligent unimpressionable poeple on the Internet who know a complete fake and poor character when they see it.

They are now trying to combat this and will lose.

The truth about Obama is just starting to get to the masses and this will be unstoppable.

Obama will try to pay off blogging sites. He may succeed with a few, but us non-profit pro-American truth seekers won't be denied and will keep educating those uninformed and/or naive (or one in the same) persons. You don't want to say stupid, but that is essentiallly what it is if you believe Obama's BS.

not directed at you

but could someone tell me why if he is a Muslim would he attend church
and even have to say several times hes not Muslim.

Wow! I bet you that really makes the Muslims happy. The fact that Obama has to repeatedly DENY he is a Muslim! Take a pause and think about what you just said. This alone qualifies Obama as a bigot, and the funny thing is he doesn't even see it. We don't need his Trinity church to attest to this. I suppose you'll try to use the excuse that this country is so "racist" that he has to say it! You are right, but, its not the old racism. Most racism these days is directed at whites. Don't believe me? Listen to R&B or Rap genre music. Listen to New Orlean's mayor, or Al Sharpton, or Jesse Jackson. Do you think if anyone white said what these people say about blacks that it would be tolerated?

Perhaps this is why he's got this team on the job. The fact of the matter is, the internet is NOT controlled by those mainstream idiots YET. It only makes sense that Obama needs to combat......what????? The TRUTH?

I'd vote for a black man, just like I'd vote for a woman. The fact of the matter is that Obama is NOT the right black man and Hillary is NOT the right woman.
