Have you ever wondered how #ed up people in this world can be? When I read this article, I was completely shocked at how this # could happen. Not that I advocate pornography or anything but- kidnapping, raping, filming, and then murdering little girls inside a dungeon in your house seems to be a little sickening to me.. especially since the guy had prior charges for violent rapes (including minors), car theft, and much more...WHY is this guy STILL on the street???

Taking the stand for the first time, Belgium's most-hated man told the hushed courtroom in Arlon he had hidden two eight-year-old girls, Julie Lejeune and Melissa Russo, in a concealed dungeon under his house to protect them from being sent into prostitution by a child sex ring.

Dutroux drew gasps from the packed courtroom when he admitted and described raping Laetitia Delhez, then 14, and Sabine Dardenne, then 12. Both girls survived.

Charged with kidnapping six girls (four of whom turned up dead and probably underage), I don't know how he was stupid enough to get caught.

Asked by the judge why he had built the trap door to conceal the dungeon, he said: "I wanted to create a hiding place to spare them from being sent to a prostitution ring."

I hope scum like this go away forever.

Completely disgusting. But how do we know this guy is telling a lie? It would seem as though others would have set him up to take the fall like a good little scapegoat if what he says is true. There is more to this than putting away one guy.

I don't hear any more about how the child abduction/rape in Belgium has subsided since his capture. Maybe the police need to be doing a little more investigating, unless they are in on it too.
