Phantasma De Luxe by Tiamat

I absolutely love this song...but does anyone have any idea what it means? I have been wondering that for so long. I think its about the death of a lover, but I'm like 25% sure about that...so I don't really know. Any ideas?

Here are the lyrics:

this dole crowner gallows me
as this mere welkin hallowed be
whereupon i trick and train and tire
to limn my umbered love in fire
before this noble mare bewrays
lest I clearly see it all decay
in debile coil of smoke suspires
may our last horizon quickens as we
are trembling near this poise so free
quell me maculate slowly dyer
case my remains with sharpened brier
atone me to my throes curtail
to dim and dire fields i vail
and my eale's but a slumbering lier
then so lingered here but none
to buckle back what had begun
in molten aeons caged desire
dared phantasma us much higher
ceased to milch the clover flower
neither raindrops nor my lover
shall restore what has been done
when we're all keeled in freezing sun

Sounds like someone in a drug dazed depression. What led me to believe this was this line...

in debile coil of smoke suspires

debile mean weak

Suspire means breath

also this

ceased to milch the clover flower

Milch is mid english meaning milk

After this out of curiosity I checked out wikipedia for Tiamat. This is what I found.

A Deeper Kind of Slumber is the 1997 Century Media Records release by Swedish band Tiamat.

It was also the first production after their relocation to Germany, and was written almost entirely by founder/lead songwriter Johan Edlund. Much of the music had reflected on Edlund's personal problems dealing with drugs, creative differences within the band as well as an interpersonal relationship.

It was produced by both Edlund and Dirk Draeger.

my guess is that Edlund was an opium smoker...

Hmm..thanks for the help...I still wish I knew exactly what it was about. Have you ever actually heard the song? Its such a beautiful song. It seems to have a heavy Pink Floyd influence.

YES! You sir are a god amongst men. Thanks for posting the actual song. I haven't heard it in so long. I didn't even think to look on Youtube for it. I've been trying to find it on P2P but I can't. I was gonna wait to go buy the album in a week anyways. But thanks alot

And I said it seems to have a heavy Floyd influence...but I guess it may be just a heavy drug influence. Same difference I suppose.
