Women have been "used" or looked at as objects since well before porn. Quit trying to blame things. This is why books get burned, things get banned, and free speech gets trampled.

You can't blame a thing for human actions... you can only blame a who.

I agree. There is loads of opportunities but they require you to actually work hard for your money, hence the reason many of these women decide to go into the porn industry. College takes a long time and dedication, porn takes a nice body. Moving your way up the corporate ladder takes a long time and dedication, porn... just requires a nice body. See a trend here? They have options, they choose to not exercise them.

but "sam" said they are victims...so how can they have options...and by the way, men as well as women have to be dedicated and work hard to get ahead.

Don't like it, don't watch it. Stop trying to force your values on others.

OK by that logic whats wrong with 6 year olds in porn? If you don't like don;t watch it. Who are you to impose your values on others?

Women are harassed precisely because of things like PORNOGRAPHY - we live in a rape culture- women are sex objects.

What planet are you from?

Just out of curiosity, are you a member of NOW?

Not sure if anyone pointed this out but:

Many women in porn have issues with child abuse or neglect. Which again comes down to my theory that the parents are to blame!! Not porn, not video games, not TV, not food, not school. The parents.

People are such suckers for a 'cause' that they forget common sense. If your child is in porn, you failed... not society.

The same people that think we should ban porn will do nothing to give a helping hand for the people who are most likely to go into porn (less fortunate folk).

Apples meet oranges.

Sexual molestation of a child is a completely different topic from ADULT women in porn.

If you cannot see the difference, you are beyond help.

Why is it so difficult for you bible thumpers to understand that not everyone shares your puritanical, sheltered view of life?

It's an attitude thats the problem but things perpetuate and reinforce it on a new generations. Pornography is bad for society. I took a class in a state (non religious) engineering focused college on Rape Culture. That is truly what we have in the USA we use sex to sell everything. And thank Porn King Scumbag himslef Hugh Hefner entirely unrealistic views of women with tiny bodies and huge breats which isn't even natural.

The term "rape culture" is right out of the Feminists Handbook of Retarded Ideas.

Sex sells because sex is :

a) Enjoyable

b) Natural

and

c) Everyone can do it.

No what we are talking about is very similar be3havior.

Who are you to say it molestation what if the child agrees to it?

I see it. The difference is what max got a fine vs 20 years in the Pen

Who mentioned the Bible?

You just avoided the question Who are you to impose your values on pedophiles?

Yeah but lots of things are changing. Attitudes have changed drastically in the past 100 years and it would be quite narrow-minded to pinpoint it straight to pornography.

Skinny with big boobs is not necessarily all Hugh... pin-ups existed well before him.

porn and rape are 2 differnet things, ask a woman and she'll educate you on that alot more then a collage course would. by the way ...rape is an act of violence...funny how nobody wants to outlaw violent movies... i guess violence is no big deal in our "christian culture", because blockbuster, netflicks, cable t.v., hollywood video, and movies in the theatre, juuusssttt can't get enough of those movies out to the masses.

So you equate watching porn or producing it to be the same thing as molesting a child?

Who are you to say it molestation what if the child agrees to it?

No offense intended, but I have to ask a serious question:

Are you retarded, or have you suffered a brain injury?

A child lacks the mental faculties and cognition to be able to consent to something. Hence minors cannot sign a legally binding contract.

Hugh marketed it and sold it to America. But Porn is just a symptom of a larger moral decay. MTV would have been called porn in the 1950s.

We are going the way of Rome I fear.

Do we really have to go there with the personal insults? Weren't you the one just talking about being a champion of free speech and expression? Then those 'Bible Thumpers' are allowed to have their say as well. Just as you are entitled to vocalize your disagreement with them. I am very liberal when it comes to sexuality but rape being glorified, even in entertainment, is a bit too much for me. And that is my opinion this Bible Thumper is entitled to have.

I actually agree with you but was leaving that alone since it was a bit off topic. But, yes. Violence in movies does nothing for me, either. Every human life is valuable and gore being glorified rubs me the wrong way as well.

As I said before, bible thumpers can believe whatever they want, but they cross the line the moment they try to interject their views into other peoples lives.

Still dancing away from the question I see. Resorting to ad hominem attacks now too. Getting desperate?

Obviously its OK to impose values - when you agree with the values.

You asked who do "religious people" think they are imposing their values. So I tried to find something you might consider offensive (if that's even possible) and asked who are you to impose your values? But you can't answer that. Why not?

I hardly doubt that. Much of moral decay has to do with the major family problems this country is facing. Parents are more irresponsible today than they ever have been before.

I can't blame porn when there are children making bombs in their room and their parents don't know. When children are severely depressed and commit suicide and the parents blame the school, it makes me wonder why people buy that.

And it's not all of the parents fault. Americans are expected to work far more hours than they should. It's not healthy physically or mentally. Also, due to the fact that most/many have families where both parents work, long work hours are depriving children of real parenting.

Porn is a far cry from the real problem. Sure, porn is not the greatest thing to hit the world by storm... but due to it's popularity, I'd say it serves some purpose.

well finally ....i do agree with your very last sentence, but for different reasons...i wish more people would get mad as hell and petition our government in mass to make some long needed changes

So by your logic its wrong to impose our values on a pedophile. That's your defense back at you. You can justify anything. Hotler believed what he was doing was right. Does that mean we shouldn't impose our values on him?

Oh ok. Well then tell me that when I show up at your door to clean out your porn collection because at the moment we're merely sharing ideas on an internet forum.
