Federal prosecutors may have charged Broadcom co-founder Henry T. Nicholas III in one of the largest stock-option backdating cases in U.S. history, but it was allegations that the billionaire drugged his business cohorts, hired prostitutes and maintained a drug warehouse that grabbed headlines.

Defense attorney Gregory Craig said that Nicholas was innocent and would prevail.

The drug charges carry a maximum combined sentence of 20 years in prison. He could face up to 340 years in prison...

This is kind of a creepy story.

This guy seems to have been living it up in the basement for quite some time, yet the drug and prostitution charges came as a surprise to him. The false filings with the SEC are what really will cost him if they stick. Broadcom is a pretty major company to have this high level a meltdown in public. Dr. Nicholas and Co. may be made an example of.
