Hey guys, cool show.
Charlotte King is such a wonderful woman.
I think i got this questionnaire thing down.

Red Dawn, 1984, by John Milius.
Stars: Patrick Swayze, Christopher Thomas Howell, Charlie Sheen, Lea Thompson, Jennifer Grey.
I think maybe the "other movies" Dave mentioned are some of the "Brat Pack"
movies, namely The Outsiders, Tank, Young Guns, ect... (breakfast club woohoo)

And I hope I het this last one right -- Was it that the operation
to capture Saddam Hussein was named after this movie?

Which is kind of ironic if you think about what Jesse said about the war and this movie.

Hi Johnny And Dave.

Great interview, my heart goes out to her. I just can't imagine having to live like that.

BTW, Johnny, that "fleet" footage I sent you was taped the evening before the big quake in China.

Hmmmm...

Keep up the good work and I look forward to your next interview.

Thanks for the info.... Glad you liked the show too... I swear that Charlotte was tugging at my heartstrings and I was trying to be neutral and not let it bother me..

In regards to your statement. Back in the late 80's and part of the early 90's I had been working on a data backed graph/record of sightings that may or may not have been associated within several days/weeks of some form of seismic activity. My problem was that we didn't have the type of reporting and data like we have today.. hmmm, maybe I should resurrect that file and see what kind of co-relation factors there might be with current events..

Appreciate your post, (BTW, I'll be sending you a U2U soon about the gathering)

10,000 ATS POINTS!

It's not an easy quest..... but fairly easy if you just do a little researching. This is enough points to get you into R.A.T.S. with lots more for special things in the members area. Again, listen to the beginning of this show and I tell you all you need to know.

1) the movie was Red Dawn
2) the year was 1984
3) the other movie with cast members Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey was Dirty Dancing
4) uh, other cast members were C Thomas Howell, Lea Thompson, and Charilie Sheen but I am going with the "Dirty Dancing"
5) Historic significance is that Red Dawn was the first movie to get the
PG-13 Rating.
6) Jesse brought up the movie to point out our hypocrisy in Iraq and that the Jebs in Iraq are considered "insurgents" and they should be "freedom fighters" We are the occupiers wearing the red stars over there.

Also, this movie was put into the Guinness World Records for most violent movie.

Edit: I'd still go with The Outsiders, but res's probably right.

Close..... but something is missing. Remember I want to know the actors that played in the other movies by name. You must have everything correct to win.

Well, I didn't miss a person from those two movies.
But Cloud, you are right too because the "Outsiders" has Patrick Swayze and C. Thomas Howell.
Maybe we are suppose to find all the movies that had 2 or more of the principle actors from Red Dawn in them?
So..... somebody should try
1) Red Dawn. 2) 1984 3) historical pg-13 4) Jesse referring to our "red dawn" occupation of Iraq. 5) list all the actors. 6) Dirty Dancing with Swayze and Grey AND Outsiders with Swayze and C. Thomas Howell.

Okay...... evidently I am not communicating this properly. So this is for you and whoever else wants to give it a shot.

1. What is the name of the movie Jessie refers to and when did it come out?

2. Of the actors in this movie, which actors starred together in other movies? Name the 2 or more actors and the movies for each.

3. This movie was historical, why?

On the other movies, which I will state the obvious one, this is how it should be and there are several if you dig deep enough.

Patrick Swayze & Jennifer Gray - Dirty Dancing - 1987

Everyone still has a chance at this as a few of you are hitting all around and are extremely close.

1) Red Dawn 1984
2) historic because it was first PG-13 rated movie
3) The principle actors were; Charlie Sheen, Lea Thompson, C Thomas Howell, Patrick Swayze, Jennifer Grey and maybe Powers Boothe.
4) the other movies that had any pairings of these principle actors was;
a) Dirty Dancing 1987--Swayze and Grey
b) The Outsiders 1983 --- Swayze and Howell
c) Ferris Bueller's Day off 1986 ---Grey and Charlie Sheen (he was the young man at the police station)
d) Into the Homeland 1987---Powers Boothe and C Thomas Howell
e) Grandview U.S. A. 1984---Swayze and Howell
5) Jesse brought it up comparing how our occupation of Iraq is just like that movie "red dawn"

After a busy past week I finally found time to listen to this interview.

And guys, bloody outstanding, apologies for language, but it was.

You know, being a member of ATS has its pitfalls. I only tell a select number of people that I regularly visit it. And any comments I make are usually poor, under-researched, and leave me feeling humbled by my sheer inadequacies.

But this interview made me think differently.

Last night, my better half and I held a small soiree at home here for some friends. Conversation was vibrant. But my mind was buzzing after hearing the interview. After few glasses of fine Central Otago pinot, I talked openly about the interview with Charlotte, and her experiences.

If ever there was a topic to make an 'ok' night into a 'spectacular' night, then that was the one.

It managed to bring out ideas, thoughts, arguments, and even observations that not even the long-time partners of the people involved knew about each other.

So well done guys. You created debate. And healthy debate too.

I look forward to listening to the very, very, very important second half of the interview that I demand has to be done. Now.

Carry on. You're both doing a great job.
