I think maybe the rover took a sample from there. Looks about the same diameter as the digging probe...

Yes, it's a pattern created when the brushes on the end of the robotic arm cleaned off the surface patina of the rock.
I don't think they had used the grinder yet. Just the metal brush.

Wow its a Mars sunflower.They must have a whole lot of them up there,and of course with flowers,there are bees.

Makes me wonder if some of the other interesting images found previously could be scientific test sites from other entities visiting mars.
