The 9-11 Whitewash

<<  1    2    3  >>

Topic started on 3-3-2004 @ 08:00 AM by EastCoastKid

This whole 9-11 commission is a joke. They don't have power to subpeona anyone to testify under oath. Or even in public. Without the power to legally compel someone to tell what they know, in a public forum, we will learn nothing and no one will ever be held accountable for the so-called "intelligence failures" that led to 9-11.

It's outrageous. America should DEMAND George W. Bush, Dick Cheney and Condoleeza Rice - to name a few - should be compelled to testify under oath to explain what they knew and when they knew it. But, of course, that won't happen. It's the limpdick Warren Commission all over again.

If they have nothing to hide they would willingly do everything in their power to get to the bottom of what happened on 9-11. Instead they've stonewalled the commission at every turn.

Personally, until they give that testimony - under oath and in public - they will remain guilty as hell of at least allowing it to happen to further their PNAC agenda.

Chicken$hit Chickenhawks.

This is what should be put to them:

The Family Steering Committee
Statement and Questions
Regarding The 9/11 Commission
Interview With President Bush

(Reprinted with permission of The Family Steering Committee www.911independentcommission.org...)

February 16, 2004

The Family Steering Committee believes that President Bush should provide sworn public testimony to the full ten-member panel of the National Commission on Terrorist Attacks Upon the United States . Collectively, the Commissioners are responsible for fulfilling the Congressional mandate. Therefore, each Commissioner must have full access to the testimony of all individuals and the critical information that will enable informed decisions and recommendations.

The victims of 9-11 and their loved ones cry out for justice. It's time for their cries to be heard and avenged.

Americans need to march en masse upon the White House and not move a damn muscle until we get our way on this. That is, if Democracy still actually exists. They would have to respond.

I have to say, as much as I railed against Clinton - at least he was forced to testify under oath before a grand jury. But then again, he ain't King George Dubya.

Was reading this: www.commondreams.org...

"the revelations have been greeted with dismay by the commission's critics, especially survivors and relatives of the dead, because they suggest the investigation will be -- in the words of Kristen Breitweiser, who lost her husband Ron in tower 2 of the World Trade Center -- "a whitewash."

The families have said for many months that they are unhappy with Zelikow's role, and are furious that they were not told he would be giving evidence.

"Did he interview himself about his own role in the failures that left us defenseless?" asked Lori Van Auken, the widow of Kenneth. "This is bizarre.

When will these questions be answered? When will these victims have peace?

Probably never, Earthton.

The mainstream media is BARELY even covering this - which is a travesty - ya know outta sight, outta mind. In my opinion, the large papers NY Times, LA Times, Wa. Post etc. are themselves complicit. This commission's work should be covered extensively. Instead we get a snippet on page 20A once in a blue moon.

My heart goes out to the courageous family members like Ellen Mariani who were brave and strong enuff to refuse the blood money they call the compensation fund. It's nothing but a big frockin bribe. And they won't take it. They'd rather persue justice. Americans are just as guilty for not standing up for those people.

I know, it's unbelievable. People just don't accept it because it's just not covered. Think how much bull# you see on the news about micheal Jackson. I mean so what? He's a friggin pop star. The investigation in 9/11, one of, if the worst attack on against America, recieves little or no coverage in mainstream media.

Two words: COGNATIVE DISSONANCE

The way things are any more, I don't hold out much hope for America. How many of us have to die before the sleeping giant awakes?

I honestly think television has so brainwashed people that you're absolutely right, Earthtone - if it ain't on TV it doesn't exist. My blood boils just thinking about it! (And I didn't even know anyone related to 9-11.) I can't even imagine how I'd feel if I had.

Our leaders MUST be held accountable for the failures that occurred on their watch!

Is that how this should work? Should a commission have the power to force people to testify under oath? Don't we already have a mechanism to handle the discovery and presentation of evidence? Have you ever heard of other countries that have given commissions such legal powers? Do you want to live there?

If people want to force a sworn testimony, use the courts, not a commission. I don't think I would like to be brought in front of some commission in my city and have to swear under oath about something. Do you? I'd rather have my lawyer and a judge with a whole bunch of procedures and precedents to work under.

Besides, even if they were under oath, a whole lot of people wouldn't believe their testimonies any more anyway.

They made president Bill Clinton testify under oath concerning Monica Lewinski.

This commission was set up as a farce to begin with. Without sworn testimony, it has no value, period. And we are talking about over 2000 MURDERS, remember?

The only reason they refuse to testify is because they are hiding the truth of their involvement. Otherwise, they'd have nothing to hide and they'd be very forthcoming. "National Security" is nothing but an excuse. A convenient, and overused one at that. It's complete Bu#.

This isn't to talk about what they knew. They're still going to deny they knew anything prior to the attacks. This is simply a diversion to get the suspicious people in America to shut up. Plain and simple. Now you wonder why is all being discussed behind closed doors.

It's outrageous. Why isn't anyone stepping up to bat for the victims' loved ones? If We don't, we're all guilty.

Because then they'd all be called "Unpatriotic" and then be told to shut their mouths. Who knows? Maybe then they'll get arrested and considered terrorist.

Yeah, you know it. It's such BU#!!!

I don't care how long it takes - the truth WILL come out! Look at how many years it took for us to learn the unvarnished truth about FDR's foreknowledge of the attack on Pearl Harbor. At least it finally came out. And then there's the JFK era Operation Northwoods document someone secretly stashed. James Bamford found it by accident when he requested a pile of documents under FOIA.

Yes XFactor, I tend to agree. They had to have shepherded the patsies along and facilitated the attack. There's no way NORAD wouldn't have stopped those plans had they not been involved. All one has to do is run a google search on the Payne Stewart crash and how his plane was intercepted within minutes - according to Standard Operating Procedure. It blows the administration's story slam out of the water.

In that instance they just happened to be close to an AF base that had A/C there that could intercept it. That was not the case on 9-11.

How would you know what SOP is for that? I am sure the specifics of it are classified, and whatever of it has been released is an altered version of it.

Do much research Cool Hand? It's very accessable if you run a google search on NORAD. Very simple.

No offense, but your conclusion is way off.

Based on what?

BTW, I know for a fact that SOP's are classified, there is no way that you can get your hands on the one that is actually at NORAD that is actually used. What would be the point of letting that information leak out? Make it easier to exploit any flaws in the SOP?

Cool Hand, NORAD's SOP in the case of an off-course airplane isn't classified.
