Challenge Match: jasonjnelson vs TheMythLives: "So Duh; The Best Is Obvious"

New Challenge Match...

Sorry for the bad pun but Sky has reminded me that I don't care about those sorts of things...

I have to do those drug tests, too.

Of course, I work with nasty chemicals all day and if I was "medicated" I might blow something up. Go figure......

....notices the "intellect" of the debates around here seems to be slipping....

why did your son need shots to be registered for school

Vaccines. Certain types of vaccinations are required to start school.

oh dear me
everything ok now?

He's showing signs of improvement. Last night and this morning he couldn't stand at all or walk. He still won't stand but he was 'walking' on his knees before I put him down for his nap a little while ago but he won't walk upright. I vaguely remember going through the same thing after getting shots in my back as a child. I didn't want to sit up for a while because I'd have to bend my back and it would hurt.

It's nothing serious, I promise. It's just hectic because he's a bundle of energy and wants to run around everywhere. lol

I'll keep you guys updated but I promise he's OK. Just sore. lol

I get tested several times a year.

And, I handle nasty stuff daily. I mean, I deal with the stuff that will peel flesh off of bone. So, I can understand why drug tests are needed.......otherwise, we risk blowing the installation into the air and leaving a big, useless crater in the ground.

again i am confused and puzzled

vaccination is up to the parents here - the docs recommend but nobody can force parents to do this - no school can demand it!

glad that he is improving! i know how helpless a mom feels when kids are in trouble

hugs to you ashley
yup keep us updated

You are just jealous of our freedoms.

Specifically the freedoms that are mandatory to participate in.

It might be different in Germany than the U.S.

For us, we got him the six required (Polio, Measles/Rubella, Tetanus, etc.) and declined the other two they wanted to give him (chicken pox and something sounding like 'pneumonia conjugate' or however you spell it).

I'm not sure but I think daycare requires them too but since he's never even seen the inside of a daycare and has always stayed home with me, he never had to go through any of those and only received the typical vaccines babies and toddler receive.

They actually wanted to give him two more yesterday, one more in May, and two more in October but we declined all of the unnecessary ones until we can do more research on them.

But yes, certain vaccines are required here. They cannot FORCE to to take them like if I wanted to home school him or something but if he is going to school (which he is), they are required. I'm sure there is still some way parents can exempt their kids but the ones he received yesterday were the same ones I received as a child and are pretty standard.

the "freedom" to get tested when anybody wants it or to be ordered to get shots ?

yeah i am so jealous about it ian - glad that you detect it
and i can talk about it for the first time in my life

see i am so yellow - yellow means jealousness

maybe this freedom should be debated

see we can.t home school
school is mandatory or compulsive
therefore they can.t demand shots - since parents have the freedom to choose
and if you dont want your kid get it - like mine didn.t get any - but he has to go to school
any force would be kind of assault

i like that freedom over here

Wow that's scary to me, too. Almost like they'd be forcing you into state indoctrination.

I feel a debate topic brewing.

i can recommend my thread "fear" in my sig

my son is afraid for several reasons about school
i would rahter take him out and educatehim by myself but i am not allowed

a good friend of mine who is married to an american but the family lifed in germany took her 3 kids out of school and homeschooled - secretly
they found out after 3 years
the kids got american citizenship - as the mother does as well

they wanted to take the kids away from the parents because of the illigal homeschooling
the family fleed to minnesota last september

the story was also published by an homeschooling organization and even a foundation conected with the white house helped my friend

would be a wonderful debate!
i don.t support the school system we got in germany
i am really
off with it

edit:
and it is state indoctrination

Neutral male and female judges....equal number of each. We can't have one outnumbering the other.

My latest reply is up, Sky.

I didn't wait....I just worked around the real world.

There's no such thing my friend.

Debates at ATS are fixed....it's a conspiracy of epic proportions.

I can tell you who to pay off though to ensure victory....if you're interested in that sort of thing.

That's not nice.

If you are going to make offers like that, make them to both of us.
