If you always got what you wanted, then you'd only have what you didn't need.

Well, my closing is up, and we're done. Somebody call the judges and lock us up. Uhh, lock the thread up I mean.

Thank you, Super, for a good fight. A valiant effort from a neophyte who came late to the battle. Your strategy was interesting and unexpected, and I actually had to do a little thinking here and there to respond effectively.

Now that we've settled the question of Global Warming, I'll go catch up on some of the other Round 1 debates and get on with outside chores and projects.

Temperatures will be around 60 degrees F today and tomorrow. Uncharacteristically warm for February in Oklahoma.

Ok, Ian explained to me one time that the 24 hour posting rule is closer to a 48 hour posting rule, so if my opponent requested his extension over 24 hours ago, how long does he have until he is due to post??

Sorry for the "dingbat" moment.....

the 24 hour extension begins at the expiration of the previous deadline, not at the time of the extension request.

So, if they request their extension, they have 48 hours from the time of your last post, instead of 24. When they made the extension request doesn't matter.

It's pretty simple. If the 24 hour extension is used, just add 24 hours to the old deadline.

The extra 24 hours doesn't start counting down until the first 24 hours is up.

She is almost 4 hours past her deadline (factoring in her extension).

The 24 hour extension is in addition to the 24 hour deadline...so it turns out to be 48 hours from the timestamp of your last post...

Edit to Add:

Reminds me of the oft used scene in movies; when a lady asks for a light and is promptly innundated with a hundred guys proffering a lighter...

I made my last post on 2-20 @ 11:01 am (est). So, the deadline clock would have started to tick then....and add 48 hours to that??

Edit....Thanks Shock
