An excellent point. It makes much more sense to have a sport that involves moving an object from one side of a rectangular area to another, over and over again, than it does to have a sport that involves moving an object around the circumference of a rectangular area, over and over again.

there are plenty of animals at DATS

skeppy is DATS animal whisperer, so no problem

I don't place much in the stock of men in funny outfits chasing a ball around as "sport" either. Especially golf.....funny pants, funny hats, chasing a little ball around with a stick and trying to get it into a hole.

I am sure there is a joke in there somewhere.....

Here's a short list of cricket terms you guys might want to look up before you watch.

Here's an interesting cricket term ...

Dead ball

the state of play in between deliveries, in which batsmen may not score runs or be given out.[1]

called when the ball becomes lodged in the batsman's clothing or equipment.[13]

called when the ball is (or is about to be) bowled when the batsman is not yet ready.[13]

called when a bowler aborts his run up without making a delivery.[13]

called when the batsmen attempt to run leg-byes after the ball has struck the batsman's body, but is deemed to have not offered a shot.

referring to batsmen with lethargic sperm syndrome

Makes perfect sense, s-dog. Contrast with this:

No ball
an illegal delivery, usually because of the bowler overstepping the popping crease, scoring an extra for the batting side. Full tosses that pass above the waist of the batsman are also deemed no balls.

Looks to me like they couldn't decide whether they wanted to play hockey or baseball....or tennis....

*ignoring tedious 'sports' talk, and thinking of Sdog, TWISI decides to tell a corny bar joke*

A dog with his leg wrapped in bandages hobbles into a saloon. He sidles up to the bar and announces, I'm lookin' fer the man that shot my paw.

whaa-whaa-whaa

*unable to control herself she keeps at it, burying herself ever deeper*

A man walks into a bar and says, "Give me a beer before problems start!" Again, the man orders a beer again saying, "Give me a beer before problems start!" The bartender looks confused. This goes on for a while, and after the fifth beer the bartender is totally confused and asks the man, when are you going to pay for these beers?

The man answers, now the problems start!

Sounds like that could be tied into our current debate Ian.

I don't know that tailgate parties could be used as an accurate benchmark for societal evolution though.

This is the most refreshing sport in my opinion for both athlete and spectator...

Do I hear a debate NASCAR???

Edit to ask if this can be resized please? I realize its a huge wave, but in such a small space it looses its affect visually. TY
