So I noticed that no one is yakkin' it up about all the potential first round matchups.

I'm also surprised at the lack of revelry, cheers and overall relief that usually accompanies the realization/confirmation that I have not entered a tournament...

For the upcoming tournament, I've been planning ahead: we're upgrading to support a larger volume:

Considering the influx of female fighters, it should come as no surprise that you chose to relegate yourself to the role of tournament emcee and avoid a potentially embarrassing loss to a member of the fairer sex.

In short, you really don't want to be pwned by a girl.

so i got a dsl modem with 1 LAN port.

this conects my mac (via ethernet i guess) with the world

litltle orange got a pc (windows) and we bought a w-lan from d-link for him

normaly i would connect the modem with the w-lan via cable and the w-lan with my mac via cable too (mac doesn.t got airport)

but my internet provider made sure that this is not possible the mac doesn.t get conection with the web

so i need a new dsl modem with 2 ports lan

1 to conect the mac with the web and the other one to conect the wlan router with the web and than little orange via wlan router

but i am completely lost to figure out what kind of modem i need.

do you understand what i mean? i don.t understand it by myself

thanks honey

Mmm, I don't really know how to help you without actually being there to see what the exact problem is.

Sorry ol.

Can't someone from your ISP come over and set it up for you?

you are always welcome to ,my house
but it would be a bit expenive to come over just for a modem

nope the ISP won.t come over, they told me that it is not intended to have 2 computers conected with the internet with them so underhand they adviced to buy a modem with 2 lan ports, and conect my mac and the wlan with that modem, but officially NO

thanks for helping s-dog

This is my setup.

Connect the modem to the router. The router makes the connection to the ISP and presents itself as one IP address. Now connect a HUB (pretty cheap item) to the router, and hook all the computers into the hub. Tell the computers to get a dynamic address from the router using DHCP and you are up and running. Remember that the twisted cable (usually the red one) must go between the router and the hub, and the computers connect to the hub with straight cables.

I have 2 Macs and a laptop PC which all connect to the internet in this manner.

Here is a link to a hub, although you can get cheaper ones:

Ethernet Hub on Amazon

Edit: You will have no problem with the ISP because it only sees the router and does not know there is more than one computer behind the router. The router has a "real" IP address and gives only local addresses to the computers and routes information to and from the computers.
