i know you are doing your best.
and i know that it takes its time.
i was working on mine yesterday for about 6 hours, although the actual writing was about 45 minutes.

when i started the rest of my life wanted its attention
cat peed in living room
little orange needed help with homework
llittle orange wanted dinner
another forum: we got to discuss about literature and constructive criticism
i needed to watch part 3 of "the tudors"
and so on ……

but i really enjoy it, you get a broader outlook on life

By they way….how close are we to getting these Holiday Skirmishes wrapped up? I'm assuming they are still being judged?

Nope. Trying to stay busy is all.

I think some of the rampant ignorance on the main boards is getting to me again.

I need a vacation.

Ehhh...this and that.

It's hard to stay sane sometimes trying to argue your point to those who could care less about facts.

Like I said...I need a vacation....but I just can't pull myself away.

I see

so we are talking about the usual common madness

usually humans are not very interestd in facts, they just wanna be right. they post and expect everybody hailing them for whatever is on their mind.

will you be off of work for a couple of days when your son is born?

I only kid.

Working nonstop and being in a perpetual state of tiredness is the reason I got married and had kids.

I sure as hell don't do it for myself.

you mean you hadn.t had a life before getting married and got kids?

my ex was very pleased to go back to his desk after our son was born, unfortunately he couldn.t get away of the child since we were working in our own house

to bad for him.

my son was born in december and in may - mother.s day - i got a big present: "you can sleep in"
great
after 30 minutes he was standing at my bed with the son: "what am i going to do with him"
a 5 months old baby and his dad, and the dad didn.t know what to do with his son!

Greetings all. Congrats Peacejet.

Question for the pub at large: can anyone recommend a cold medicine that does not make you feel like you are on bad drugs? i.e. exhausted but unable sleep, living in slo-mo/underwater, stupid, etc.

I made the mistake of taking benadryl cold medicine this AM and am now not only dealing with a cold but feeling all of the above. Any assist would be greatly appreciated.

I'm sure there was something else I wanted to say, but... that nasty drug has robbed me of my sentience and possibly my will-to-live.... help....

I feel for you TWISI...but I wouldn't recommend adding anything to what you already have going right now; I would wait for it to wear off.

If you have access to some spices (curries are good for this) I would eat a bit of that so as to run some of the ick out and feel a tinsy bit more awake...

I'd agree with MS here.

I'd also suggest stocking up on some Zicam for future use. You take Zicam when you first think you may be getting sick, and it get's to work making your cold or whatever a lot less severe. A lot of times it will prevent it all together.

I use it a lot.

sorry to hear you are suffering.

but i guess any recommadation of mine would be useless, since you won.t get it at your place.

have you seen a doctor?
drink much!

thyme tea helps when you are coughing coz it helps to solve the mucus.
ginger tea is also very good.

vitamin c, you need lots of vitamin c.

than just rest, to help your body to cope with the cold. it is only a cold but your body needs all energy to get rid of the viruses.

get well soon!

Thanks, guys, you are kind as sweet as always. I am actually a lot better than I was. I had a flu thing right before New years that I bedded down and beat after about a week and took nothing the whole time.

But at 5AM woke with cartoon of a head cold, sneezing and blowing my nose so much that in an hour I had rubbed it raw. So, at 6 broke down and took the above mentioned... which is starting to wear off, so yay, because that is what is making me miserable, not the cold.

It's weird I haven't been sick in eons and then about a month ago had a one day cold, then all of this...
