Valentines day skirmishes would be interesting and fun.
Though I suspect that by Feb. 14th we will be knee deep into the next tournament.

The next tournament may indeed overlap into Valentines Day...

I think I might have to sit out Valentine's Day skirmishes.

Cynicism is one thing, but bitterness is not pretty

Ah nuts. That would have been hysterical to watch and witness all the 'dead black roses attitudes' coming in from the debaters. Oh well.

I'll keep my fingers crossed and see what the future holds.

Well, those who aren't in the tournament either by choice or loss could have em I guess.
I'm with ding on this one, it could get ugly real fast.
Heike vs. Budski could go nucilar.

But that does remind me- did anyone ever get a hold of Lucid for Heike? It just worries me because I know he was extremely excited to get started here.

I left a message at his profile board today.

He hasn't signed in since the 10th, and I'm pretty worried.

He signed in the first couple days that he was supposed to be debating (or his account did anyway) but didn't post anything anywhere (what's the chance that boy could actually not have a single opinion for two days straight?)

Ok, ok. I concede. And I suppose a
emoticon won't work anymore since I've already exposed my manipulative use of it. Shame on me for laying my cards on the table too soon.

ADB: Thanks for the reply. I hope he is well.

No valentines day break. In fact, mandatory valentines day speed debates.
Sure it seems like a harmless card, some flowers, and maybe a few $20's, but that's just how it starts. Next month it's doctor visits, panicked phonecalls, ducked phonecalls, private detectives, parental tirades, expectant-grandfather on expectant-grandfather violence, supreme court cases, Roe v Wade goes down in flames, and before you know it we're all married with kids and completely sick of arguing. The debate forum lies in ruins, ruled by two eunuchs who registered on 2/15.

aren.t you the girl who jumped in as a – loved - replacement?
see what fun your would have missed!!

yes please let's do them more often

valentine's day
or let.s talk about the easter bunny

has it been proven that he is real?

for santa i have to share a statment of little orange (at that time about 9)
"Santa exists, i once saw him [a guy in a costume], we are very lucky, at my family all the prezzies are brought from santa, i know that some kids don.t belive in santa, they have to get their prezzies from their parents. i am pity for them!"

for valentine's skirmishes and tournament:
what about a small skirmish for those who don.t participate in the tournament?

ok s-dog already mentioned it.,

btw, i never got a valentine.s card in my life and i guess it is not because i don.t have 15 points in debate ranking

it is not that common overhere

No sign of Lucid, or TWISI for that matter.
Lucid still hasn't read the u2u I sent him telling him our debate is up. Am I really that scary??

Not much going on here, and I'm damn sure not going to talk about the weather again, so I guess I'll just be quiet some more and read new debate posts.

@SchroDog: You get dictionary privileges too. The word is nuclear.

I don't debate.... I just sit and watch.

Don't tell, but someone sent me in here to keep an eye on you guys, so behave or I'll have to report back bad things about you all...

Translation: I am way too frightened of MemoryShock's rhetorical skillz and am just as wary of the rest of the Fight Club.

If I was to debate, then you'd all be beaten so badly, there wouldn't be a need for any further debates and therefore the FCP would go away and then what... so I'll just sit on the sidelines for now.

Cool, people, cool people... they're all in my head already, I have plenty of cool people to chat with, maybe someday, they'll come to ATS and play with you guys too...

oh yeah.... Morn'n

Bloody people turning up at the last minute for a "surprise" visit grrrrrr

I HATE SURPRISE VISITS

24 hour extension taken - hopefully they'll have gone away by then, but if not, they can bloody well entertain themselves.

I don't even like these bloody people that much.

I am now in full grinch mode

Sounds like one of the following to me:

  • a challenge
  • I can't admit I'm scared/intimidated so I'll claim I'm too good.
  • a dangerously overinflated ego
  • a cover for being too lazy to debate

Too bad we can't have a poll.

P.S. Proper English usage is: "If I were to debate ... "

Didn't anyone tell you that entering the fight club makes you fair game regardless of admin status?

Very nearly.

But it can also be meant in different ways

As in "I feel like beating my surprise visitors bloody"
