And while I'm asking questions, how the heck did I get a 10,000 character limit for regular posts? I swear it used to be like 4000 or 5000 ....

The character limit gradually increases for each user correlating to the amount of posts (and inferred quality of contribution based on said number) one has posted.

DAS geht!

usually people tend to say: das geht gar nicht!
to emphasies it.

but it is possible
i am a happy vegetarian!

i was never really appealed by any meat stuff and next easter i am off that stuff for 10 years!!

@ADB: Well, at least in German words sound like they are spelled and vice versa, and we don't usually have one word meaning 5 different things depending on "context."

do you know how difficult it is to find the right word in a dictionary when you got a certain experession in mind?

and for the simmilar sounding words
they can be tricky

i.g. to get = bekommen (sounds similar to become which means in german: werden)
or spelling
in english: table = tabelle (the l and e switch!)

@everyone: OT question. Is it okay to put moderators on your friends list? I mean, with our interactions here in FCP there are several of the mods that I consider friends, although I still respect and obey them as Mods, but I was wondering about the relevant ATS etiquette (if there is any) of adding some (but not all) Mods as your friends, and whether or not that might bother other Mods I have a cordial relationship with but aren't quite "friends."

but a mod is also a member.
i never put a mod on my friend-list but i add the member

if they are moderating, i obey
if they acting as member they are my friends in that case!
so why not?

i added some members with mod-status after interacting with them!

I've got several friends who happen to be mods as well.

As you and S-Dog said though, they are members first, mods second.

Thanks, I'll have to bust out my Stein to drink it properly.

In return, a little something from the Florida branch of FCP

I think it's perfectly fine. I have to have some form of ongoing/long-term rapport with staff members before they are added. If not, I feel like a kiss up to add them just because of their position. But it's totally ok to add them if they are your buddies or even just because you want to. It's not against etiquette.

I would have said it sooner had I known it was such taboo...

The problem is that in some "romantic fiction" the word "member" may be seen as a euphemism for.....

Tell you what, I'll let you work it out

O Rly?

Well I think you probably have to wear a tight necktie every day just to keep your prepuce from covering up your visage.

@Shock: So the more I talk, the more room you give me to talk in? Well, I guess that's a good system for "user generated content."

Apparently it is for me as well. How that one slipped past me I don't know.

Must be all the alcohol.

Speaking of alcohol, I just recently tried this gin imported from New Zealand.

Care for a taste?

South Gin anyone?

This is one of the joys of having flu (it's been upgraded from a heavy cold, due to the aching, and the fact I feel like I've been run over by a herd of wildebeest) I no longer have hangovers - it just feelslike it

Yuck.

I'm afraid that it's coming for me. At least something is.

My little girl has a stomach virus, my wife has a terrible cold (on top of the fact that she is 7 months pregnant) and I'm feeling worse by the minute.

I'll probably wind up with all three....well...not the pregnancy.

I never considered whether it was appropriate to friend Mods, as my very first friend, on my first day was... MEMORYSHOCK. Which knowing what I do now, was utterly sweet of him (and he didn't even know I was a hot chick then :lol
Ditto Sky, he was, I think, my third friend.
