*nYk537 stumbles into the pub*

Holy crap….what a rough couple of weeks.

I'm back in full swing now though, so you can finally get back to normal.

Geeze I must have missed 20 pages while I was out.

Or both.

C'mon, admit it. You really wouldn't mind having a marble hot tub in the men's room replete with gold swan faucets.

No no, the girls started it with all the mushiness and such.
They're trying to change us these Amazons.
It starts with bathroom renovations and next thing you know we're debating the latest issue of US mag and tivoing Oprah and the View.

Edit: And no I didn't watch "House" this or any other week.

Dagnabbit! Donnerwetter!

I realized that I forgot to say my thank-yous in my closing, and found a mistake in the very first sentence, after I posted.

Dagnabbit!

Oh well, no edits, what's done is done.

Nyk, are you ready to move forward with the vaccine debate, or shall I tell Shock I'm ready for the mystery topic debate?

*Heike settles herself on the waiting bench and wonders if we have any Irish coffee.

I'd be more than happy to share my super secret stash of Bailey's with you. I'm a little partial of the stuff myself.

Bite your tongue! HARD!

That's Trace Adkins!

And, as my friend Kathy puts it so eloquently, that's one tall oak tree that lots of us gals would like to climb.

Psst...he's getting you back for the 'dog park' reference...

And for all the new Fighters who were asking for mentorship...I am compromising by writing a "How To/Advice" thread for the Debate Forum.

If anyone has any suggestions or thoughts, please u2u me with them and I will include you in the opening post as contributers...(half done)...

I think it is time ATS took us seriously...

That's a great idea - another stickied thread. The Pub is great for the all-important smack talk, blowing off steam, and issuing challenges, but considered advice and theory can often get lost in the shuffle -- eg, Sdog's excellent insights a few pages back. A place to post procedural questions, how-to, etc., and get a pedantic reply would be a good reference.

Be sure to mention that the judges deduct one point every time a debater confuses the words "loose" and "lose".

I'll make a side note on semantics...

And Schro Dogs posts a couple pages back are an impetus. My thoughts are we should encourage new Fighters without them getting lost in the rhetoric of the all important 'smack talk'.

As a few of the newer Fighters know, there is a transition to the Debate Forum that may be difficult to overcome. I am exactly trying to minimize it so that we have confidence levels from new Fighters that we see in the veterans. I like to think that we are the best forum on ATS, but I don't want to discourage potential newcomers by our off the cuff approach. Let's 'haze' em and welcome them is what I am thinking...

Good debate Heike, and thanks for picking it up voluntarily

Anyways, I'm sipping on Yuengling and off to the creationism forum where I'm sure I'm going to read posts that'll require more Yuengling.

Cheers
