I hate soooo MUCH!

You know, because of the way they did it I can just drag the image to my desktop, send it to kinkos and make a hat out of it. But I'm superstitious so I didn't do it.
If I ever win though that's what I'm doing, a hat, burger king style, and I'm gonna wear it everywhere! So what if they point?

I do remember the day you shyly entered the debate Forum telling us how you joined ATS because you were impressed of it and MemoryShocks debatse. Meanwhile you have entered the ranks of the Masters - and even surpassed them.

As nice as it is, it gets tough up there, we will be circling around you like vultures over prey, forever scheming to make that Badge of yours our own.

Nice! It looks great, and you've now become a prize kill and I envy you not at all (ok, quite a bit actually).

I have a question. See, this is when I could have used a mentor or a big sister/brother or something like that..

In our debate, is it acceptable to say things like

"That is a ridiculous assertion and avoids the issue" or
"Nice try at a straw man argument. Unfortunately, it has little to do with the topic at hand."

In other words, is sarcasm and/or being directly confrontational acceptable as long as one is tearing apart what one's opponent (or a link) has written, and not the person?

I see no reason why you shouldn't if it's based on the truth. You are not personally attacking someone. In fact, I plan on playing that card in my debate whenever I can, it's a great way of capitalizing on your opponent's mistake and making it the center of the debate, which is my aim.

But I'm not a debate Guru so I can't say for sure whether or not it's admissible.

But it sounds like too much fun to pass up, frankly. And an angry opponent makes more mistakes


And P.S: How's the new debate coming along?
P.S 2 (pun intended): Countermanding that order, just read through you debate briefly, but will reserve opinion until it's over.

You might want to check out the Final Debate of the last Tournament. We do that a lot there.
