Speaking of extensions, did you see TWISI's new avy?

Yes...she makes our hard-fought battles here a bit more pleasant.

Thanks, Sky!

And Sdog, you asked for it. Though in all candor I must admit that the formatting stretched my extensions out... a bit.

Now, off to read Mem's post!

Mmmmmmm, that's good formating.

Oh, dear. ADB & TWISI, I'm SO sorry! My abject apologies.

TWISI, of course the invitation extends to you. Just, um, re-read the paragraph and pretend it was addressed to you - it really was intended to be. I read all the posts from when I was gone and then replied, and just forgot which one of you it was that said that.

No harm done, I don't think. The guys seem happy about the results anyway

And I appreciated the invitation even if it wasn't really directed at me. Actually, I've only been on a horse once in my life and I'm not particularly looking to repeat the experience. But I'm glad you had a good weekend, and join in with everyone on welcoming you back

I raise a big beer:

Both to honor the skill of the valiant Fighters of the "Prop 8" debate and to assuage my fatigue at the thought of how many battles I will have to engage in before being able to brandish such formidable rhetorical technique.

At this moment I choose to vanquish thoughts of those endless fields of battle... and drink!

Cheers!

edit to add: No worries, Heike and I may just take you up on that "Bad Girls" trip. Friends, horses, food and fire it sounds like my version of heaven.

Same back to you.

I was dissapointed to find that the posting-limit has been re-instated. We used to have a no-limits thing.

Back to you Memory Shock.

Despite many attempts to get our debate done, it's obvious that it ain't gonna happen.

I have now washed my hands of the football debate - it's scrubbed as far as I'm concerned.

I believe I showed more than a modicum of consideration in stepping aside so that another debate could take place.

And I end up messed about, with no communication as to what is happening.

Again.

So with that in mind, I now have no intention of finishing this debate with sdog.

It's rude and it's out of line to treat a fellow fighter in this fashion.

Budski you are absolutely right.

I'll ask semper to put this one in the loss column for me.
I am sorry if you felt that I was messing with you, that was not my intention.
I could just not muster up the energy of thought on this subject and kept procrastinating in the hope that I would.
I however assure you it wasn't personal.
I simply should have communicated my apprehension in a better and more respectful manner.
Once again my apologies to you and to the other fighters.

Sky...I turn my back for one second and you go ahead and post again!

Heavy Sigh...I'll have it back to you tomorrow afternoon...

Budski and Schro Dog: Why not just change the topic and start a fresh...something less contentious, like "Poisoning people is a good and positive thing"...

Bah. I've had a nasty little rhinovirus (or something) and have been under the weather for the past few days. Of course I start feeling ill early Saturday morning, and it lasts until late Sunday night... what a weekend. Over it now, though.

I was actually feeling too ill to drink. And for a fighter, that is quite ill indeed.

Semper, you'll be glad to know I alleviated some of my symptoms with aspirin and dextromethorphan - I consider it karmic completion for evading your Socratic Questions.

MemoryShock, it looks like you've stolen a move from Sky's playbook.

Impressive. It's almost like watching speed chess! Something tells me this debate will be over and done with by tomorrow evening.

Thank you for your honesty and candour, and for your apology, which is accepted without reservation, and without prejudice

I would still like to debate a football topic, if you are game (pun intended)

Some suggested topics are
British vs Foreign managers, which is better

The 3 stages of teambuilding and its merits and effectiveness (Rinus Michaels debate)

Champions League or Chumpions league - is it right that NON champions are in the competition

Are National teams an encumberance or a benefit.

Systems and formations - Rigidity vs Fluidity

Has the influx of TV money helped or hindered the lower leagues

or any other topic of your choosing, if you still have an interest in a debate about my beloved sport.

I ask as a courtesy because I am aware that you found the position too much against your own inclinations in the defunct debate, and am willing to try another topic rather than just post a loss in your debit column.
