Damn, Sky...you're wearing me out...

I haven't even read it yet but I was impressed to see it already up there.

Its turning out to be a good debate between Shock and me. Check it out to a glass of wine or cup of coffee.

You are just relentless, couldn't you give poor Shock his Saturday night?
It's his only chance to drink.

Yea I have to admit, it was a little discouraging when we were debating to work five hours on a post (I'm slow), post it, and then see a reply from you 2 1/2 hours later...

Fair enough, post marital sex is quite subversive.
If by subversive you mean time consuming.

And it was discouraging to me to find out that star-counts dont mean a thing. First time in Debate-History Ive seen that happen.

I made a deliberate decision to 'play to the judges', not the audience. I figured that the judges aren't exactly the average ATS member, and have a slightly different read of a debate, because they have to 'objectively' determine each point. That's why I let so many of you're stuff pass ('crackpot'?) and assumed a meeker role -- it gave me room to get my case in. I figured if I could see the holes in the argument, so could the judges, so I didn't have to waste character count pointing it out, I could just assume it would be noticed.

Must admit that popular-vote disparity had me worried, even thinking I'd lost, til the very end.

Plus it was a very polarizing topic -- I didn't want to take the risk of PO'ing even one judge...

Edit to amusedly note: unlike your current topic, which isn't polarizing at all...

It's not..

I am actually surprised at how adverse the public is to the idea. My research brings up way more anti than pro...

This is a tough one...

That really surprises me. I would have thought it would have been even, or maybe leaned the other way.

But I am guilty of sometimes forgetting that there's a lot of America between New York and San Francisco

Me too. Up until semper assigned it for us, I didnt even have a position on it, only peripherally noticing all the mass-media-stuff on it. Its a good sign that we are out of touch with msm though

I don't understand why it is so contentious either.
Why should straight men be the only ones to suffer.
It's not right I tells you.

Shock did you watch SNL tonight.
They made a pretty strong and not so subtle statement about prop 8 and their displeasure with it.
Quite interesting.

I don't understand why people have to be worried to what happens in another's bedroom. Does it affect your life? Not really. It's a good topic. Either side has much ammo to use. It's all down to debate skills. Good luck guys. Not that you need it.

We lost to Boston College, I have a 15 page paper due Monday, and a relationship was ended with the fact I wouldn't go to church tomorrow. Beer #12 down and that's half way down the case. Ohwells Pub, here's some nifty tunes at least

Sounds like an interesting hierarchy of priorities if it was meant to be as such.

1.We lost to Boston College
2.I have a 15 page paper due Monday
3.a relationship was ended with the fact I wouldn't go to church tomorrow.
4.Beer #12 down and that's half way down the case.
