Right on.

I contend that Karen Carpenter has the most beautiful female voice ever...and I enjoy her catologue when ever I am in a somber mood...

I probably shouldn't joke about the dress – in hindsight there's something very sad about the obsessive covering-up of her flesh and relentless desexualization of herself with puffy sleeves and cutesy embroidery.

You get somber, Mr. Shock? I thought you were one of the "Shiny Happy People"

Sure, thanks ADB, a ginger-ale would be nice... election day, ya know. Drinking's for after voting, and especially for when the new politicians start 'doing their thing'..

FSBA: (A) Bummer! (B) You're a trouble-maker! (C) We're so proud!
Pick any two.

Here you go Ian, homemade at the Northstar Restaurant in beautiful Columbus (Ohio, I guess):

Forgive me if I'm a bit jaded about politics. I'm just not convinced I'll even notice a difference when the new ones start doing their thing.

Oh that's refreshing... thanks

I find there's a certain topology to the landscape of cynicism -- like the globe, go far enough in one direction and you'll eventually get back to places you've been before.

I agree -- I expect no radical 'change', from a new crop of 'representatives', and that can be depressing. But, stripped of false expectations of political promises, the hopes and dreams of the public are just that -- hopes and dreams. And, that they stand alone without necessity of actualization gives them a realism that can be inspiring, as they are uniquely human. So, as a game and even a venue for shared hope, elections can be fun. If you're cynical enough.

I believe you just did. However, I concur. I think.

To Ian, you know that deep inside, our cynicism is just the iron curtain of our inner romanticism. At least -- thats what I've been told (quite brutally I may add). Not that I believe it for a second, of course.

Another Challenge Match, Ladies and Gentlemen!

Challenge Match: nyk537 vs Heike : Who's Immunilogical System...Yours or Big Medicines?

Let's support the hell out them (or at least ridicule them, even if we know deep down that they have what it takes to rhetorically whoop us all a new one...
).

Good luck fellas, I'll be rooting unabashedly for Heike for obvious reasons. Since if I lose my debate with her, it won't burn so badly!

Best of luck to both gladiators, morituri te salutant!

Congratulations my friend on your first fight win, you beat a formidable opponent.

Congratulations to Heike as well for putting up a hell of a fight.
There was very little between the two fighters.

Kudos to Heike as well for jumping right back in with Nyk.

Congratulations Oscitate! A well-fought first debate against a strong opponent. It really was an inspiration to me as a new fighter to watch you guys battle it out.

Good job to both Oscitate and Heike

Good job guys! A very enjoyable debate.

Regardless of the outcome there, I've definatly got my hands full with Heike.

**I've already got the ball rolling in our debate guys.

Although I fear I may have rushed that opening way too much, I was excited to get started. Oh well.

He folks, just came back from voting.
Lines were long, back is killing me, but I feel good and proud about voting for the first time.

Shock, I'm going to do my best to put up a response before 7pm because I want to watch the election results. If not I'll take my extension later on tonight and post tomorrow.
