Kind of like how blackwater contractors were in New Orleans after Katrina even before FEMA.

For the government the choice is simple. Blackwater doesn't have to worry about limitations, repurcusions, or consequences. Not from the UCMJ or anywhere else. They can get away with anything.

Not one security contractor has ever gone to court because of wrong-doing. Look at the rate the military folks are getting thrown out and court martialed. Military personnel are generally more careful due to the UCMJ, yet they are still getting court-martialed at a staggering rate. Could you imagine the firestorm if suddenly blackwater was held to the same standards our military is?

These guys make pay several orders of magnitude over what our military members make yet they are not held to any standards whatsoever than those they dictate for themselves.

I've have enough nutjob cops in my life, really don't want any more. Much less a whole army of them!!!

Good points and the thing with Blackwater and similar Mercs not only have many of them left the service for whatever the reason, They also aren't your typical soldier or even specops, These Mercs are the guys you hear about who like killing, who like the rush of battle, They love this stuff, and the big paychecks they get for it make it all the better...

These aren't your typical ex servicemen...

Uhh huh, their meat eaters all right.

They got used in Iraq because the 800 dead PMC operators are not a bad political hit because they get swept under the carpet so as not to be bad in the eyes of the public. They hide military figures and bury under concrete PMC figures regarding deaths in theatre.

The choice of engine does not make a plane low or high tech.

Neither does it make it any less dangerous than any other.

This one is more about common sense.

have you read a book called 'blood song' about South African PMC pilots flying a small turbo prop aircraft as a ground attack unit ? The pilot actually rated it the best ever COIN aircraft he had ever used and that SAAF should get a squadron as they were easy to maintain, easy to fuel, easy to fly and repairs were a doddle !

Its a great book and shows the highly valued service those brave souls did to African peace only to be let down by America and Britian in Rwanda.

Erik Prince’s family helped James Dobson found Focus on the Family. Erik Prince’s family gave the seed money for Gary Bauer to found the Family Research Council. Erik Prince himself is a major bank roller of President Bush, his allies, and the Christian conservative movement in this country.
