Vacation/Travel spots good for star gazing and UFO sightings?

Hello --

I am planning a week-long vacation to Arizona or New Mexico late June or early July. Can anyone recommend any locations ideal for:

1) star gazing
2) ufo sightings

Are there any (non-tourist trap-like) tours or expeditions for this kind of stuff? Anyone recommend any lodging? Basically, looking for any and all ideas, url references etc.

From what I hear there is a tour that takes you to a "vortex" in Sedona. Apparently it's a place where it feels more or less magical to those who experience it. I don't know myself as I've never been on the tour but I have been to Sedona. It's pretty breathtaking but I didn't see any UFOs while I was there but I also wasn't really looking for them either.

Also Phoenix seems to be a constant hotbed of activity there is a site CNUFOS as well as others that capture lights in the sky over Phoenix rather regularly.
