Glenn Steckling comment?

I was listening to Art Bell interview Glenn Steckling about his most recent book:
"We Discovered Alien Bases on the Moon II", and he made a statement that was quite startling to me. He stated that three times in the last 45 years when "we were on the brink", an alien civilization stepped in and intervened. I have attempted to research this statement and have not been able to find an information that pertains, in particular; what three events?

Could anyone shed any light on this matter?

I listened to the interview and was very surprised by that comment. I tried to do some research for you, but was not able to find any information on the subject in various forums, news media or search engines. I am very surprised that someone here at ATS have not furthered the subject as it is very interesting.

Hmm us being on the brink. Cuban Missle Crisis is one example. Maybe the dropping of the bombs on Japan is another at the close of WW2. And i think the other is an inicdent in 1983 when the USSR and USA came within a whisker of an accidental nuclear war due to a breakdown in communications and lack of trust on both sides.
