Yuppers.

Simon Blackburn : Think

A system of thought is something we live in, just as much as a house, and if our intellectual house is cramped and confined, we need to know what better structures are possible.

Absolutely!

So many topics are relegated to the paranormal forum due to the lack of a more appropriate place to put them. The new forum you suggest would be a great addition to the board.

I vote yes

Sounds like a great idea

I don’t know if this is allowed.
I am absolute not able or qualified to join a discussion in one of those forums, so I have no right to even vote for one of them.
But I have a wide range of interests, so no matter what it eventually will be I always can enjoy it by just following the discussions.
So I vote for "YES" for one of these forums.

Anyone who is alive is qualified to discuss anything about anything.

Anyone who is alive is also qualified to talk philosophy or psychology.

Dont let the important-sounding definitions put you off.

I cannot imagine why anyone would not want this type of forum.

I would love to participate!

My vote is an unequivocal yes. Great idea, Skyfloating.

(I figured that since the thread view counter always counts me as two persons, I may be able to blag an extra vote.)

Well I have been hanging around this forum for years off and on and as you can see by my join date I have not yet found a place to post.

But if this board gets going I may have found an area that would tempt me to participate.

Great idea.

I'm loving all of this support from you guys for this...

* To provide a more positive and maybe intellectual balance to the overall negative tone of conspiracy-theory

I think this is a very important aspect to consider, even above and beyond the new forum and wanted to direct people's attention to it again. We as a membership have the capacity to not let conspiracies, such as simple manipulation from media and advertisers, win.

The internet makes all of the old power structure obsolete because we can talk and express ideas. Doing so in a forum designed for the rational discourse and presentation of ideas, away from the truly paranormal and Ufo and political conspiracies will give us an organized advantage that I only see now adays in professional online journal discussions (industry specific).

Let's raise the standard of ATS...

Yes. It might persuade me to start posting more frequently.

The integration of philosophy with psychology is very important to the overall evolution of consciousness and it's acquisition of knowledge. The synthesization of the elements mentioned in the OP could produce a net result that is greater than the sum of it's parts.

I vote yes.

Now you have the power of the scramjet engine behind this movement!

Well I think this is a GREAT and MARVELOUS idea...

As Aristotle said:

"All human beings, by nature, desire to know."

I vote YES

Oh and as this brings visions of the Cafe' where scholars would sit and discuss intellectual ideologies, I suggest the name of the forum be...

"Cafe' Nirvana"

Semper

Yes, I'd love to see this forum here at ATS.

I need a new topic to help keep my mind off politics immediately!

A big YES from me.

Psychology, and the mind have always interested me. Hope we can get it up

Oh, boy! Yes. Here's my vote.
Oops, I think that's the fourth one. Anyway, if I can't make a contribution, I will certainly be reading it all.

I like Semper's idea. In fact, I'll place my order for a house blend now. No, not to go. Yes, I want the slug bagel with cream cheese, please.
