Shape memory alloys - a roswell consequence ?

Well sitting in my Manufacturing materials lecture today , Our lecturer starts by giving us a brief history into shape memory alloys
For those of you who dont know , these are materials that can react to external stimuli ,pressure , heat , magnetism etc
Now apparently these materials were first discovered in 1953 while trying to find a suitable material that could be used in the nose cones of missiles , when the scientist who had just taken the material out of the forge noticed that the material gave of a different ring to the cooled material , showing a change in crystal structure within the material .
during this lecture i couldn't get the idea out of my head that it sounded just like the material they 'gathered' from the supposed crach in roswell, so i did a bit of research and found this site

Take it all with a pinch of salt but its definatly got me thinking some more about the ramifications of these materials and their supposed origins .
