There is surviving:

1. on the streets
2. in the wild or the desert
3. upon a large body of water
4. out at sea
5. with a severe injury
6. a war or a bombing
7. a run from the law with the authorities out to capture you
8. a finacial crisis (like from being laid off, sued, in dept, etc)
9. a water drought/ food shortage
10. the harsh weather (be it when it's cold or when there is a tornoto near by or etc)
11. a breakout (of a virus, disease, etc)
12. in confinement with violent or crazy ppl (such as a prison or a pysch ward)
13. Any thing I miss? List em.

^^Which of those do you have covered to where you'd surely survive?

Which do I have covered so that I am certain of survival? None.
But, yeah, I don't understand the question.
The probability of my being in some of those situations are lower than others, so maybe I've developed certain skill sets based on my intuitive notions about the types of situations I might find myself in.
I'd do better in some of those scenarios than others, I guess.

Those are different situations in which to survive, there's only on real kind of survival in the barest form, and that's not dying.

Don't forget the most important survival situation, the one we're all faced with, living your day to day existence as it is now.
