How to tell if it's a chemtrail?

How do you tell the difference between a chemtrail and a regular contrail? I live by an airport, so I see contrails all the time, but sometimes they look... different. Someone told me that chemtrails are just contrails at different altitudes, but there's so much evidence for them... So, what's the difference between them, and what's some evidence supporting their existence?
