What the Hell is an Obamatron, and is there an Optimus McCain and a Hillarynator as well?

Sitting here in my little castle in Britland, and watching the US primaries and the run up to the Presedential election its struck me that you folks over there in the US of A certainly love your nicknames for folks.

I see "Obamatron" a lot, and I'm wondering what its origions are and as I am - by virtue not being a US national, completely neutral in the US political stakes I'm also wondering why McCain doesn't have a similar title?

So please indulge me and tell me more. The rest of the world is watching the US presedential race and I'd like an inside tack - albeit not such a serious one - on how you guys see things and some of the weirder political support ideas people have, stuff like this;

Yes, politics is serious, but at the same time, it can be fun. So lets not have partisan stuff on this thread, lets jut celebrate a bit of unique weirdness and the lighter side of US politics.
