The polls are open in eight of the 10 states holding contests on the biggest day in the race for the Democratic presidential nomination -- SUPER
TUESDAY.
At stake, 1,151 delegates of the 2,162 needed to win the nomination. Front runner Sen. John Kerry has 754, while Sen. John Edwards has 220.
Voters are casting ballots in Connecticut, Georgia, Maryland, Massachusetts, New York, Ohio, Rhode Island and Vermont. The polls open in California at
7 a.m. (10 a.m. ET) and Minnesota holds its caucuses Tuesday evening.
