question: IF NASA found life or another major discovery, wouldn't the President have be involved in the speech???

Yeah, that would make it seem much more intellectual..

Also no, but it probably would include some sort of Biologist on the panel. But having a Biologist on the pre-conference list would be somewhat of a giveaway.

I think the most exciting we could hope for is liquid water present. Most likely going to be liquid water past.

well its like this do you think that they would give time and date and say the president comes. it takes time to bring in secrurity requirements and to lower the risk you will not give the date time and date or if the president come, so he will be a suprise guest.

True triplesod, but the search for present or past water was the primary objective of this mission. This could just be evidence of past water but all the hype is to announce the mission a success.

But present water would be pretty damn sweet, (the discovery that is, not the water itself, which would be salty
).

EDIT: Mark I was being sarcastic, George W. doesn't come off as that much of a science guy.

so Mark are you thinking that NASA is going to confirm life with the "crab thingy" being the example???

Or perhaps the "thread fibers" or the "blueberries" or could it be "that fossilized worm thingy"

I'm hoping Bush does make a surprise guest appearance, btw anyone knows if he is in Washington today or elsewhere?

*Official Anouncement*

Due to the current findings about Mars, we are forced to conclude that life does not and could never have existed there due to past and present enviornmental conditions. Further more, an expert panel has decided that this is the perfect location to transfer the president as well as the current us administration to.

Or maybe they found Osama's super sekrit hiding spot!

here in my office, everyone is getting "hyped up", they're actually making bets on what the announcement is...

There's a tv downstairs, I might just have to go tune in...

NASA: Ladies and gentleman, we BELIEVE we have found traces of water on Mars, that MAY point the way to life on Mars.

NASA two days later: The findings have been retested, and are inconclusive....

That's my bet, hehe....

NASA have just announced definitive proof of water on Mars.

Triplesod, please try to stay on topic! There's a great press announcement going on right now.

Well, that was far quicker than me, and I was typing as they announced the findings! He he.
