Light phenomenon which could explain many "unexplained lights" sightings.

During my flight from Vancouver to Toronto this morning I noticed something extremely unusual but certainly not a UFO. Off in the distance there was another plane on approach to Pearson (we had descended to below the mid-level layer of clouds) and sunlight was reflecting off of the cabin exterior. The reflection was very bright, and viewing the reflection through the window at my seat, I noticed 2 red in colour shapes moving at the speed of the other aircraft but apparently well above it. When the other plane banked slightly the shapes disappeared. I believe the window diffused the reflection like a prism, creating the apparent shapes in the distance. This leads me to believe that many sightings of lights "in the distance" may be reflections the observer witnesses through glass which may distort the light to create different colors or shapes. I imagine it would even be possible to witness just the diffused light without seeing the actual source of the reflection (i.e. an airplane or lights from distant cars etc.) Of course this doesn't explain every sighting but I just thought I'd throw it out there.

Keep your eyes to the sky

Vancouver was beautiful I wish I could've stayed longer than just the weekend, but I was only there for business
. I really do believe that this explains a lot of sightings but I guess people either don't agree or find it naturally evident and find this redundant.

Always a possibility. However...
Every time I think about other possibilities....
I redirect my thoughts to Fox Mulder's Poster in The X-Files. The one that says
"I want to believe"
Because although the idea of those being reflected lights may in fact be the cause of a good amount of lights seen, I really want to lean more toward the fact that they are, indeed, UFOs.

Silly, I know haha!
