It is thought that the mixture of sand. granite dust and bronze was resmelted to recapture the valueable bronze/copper.
No direct evidence of that but other historical cultures tended to do that.
Limestone was also cut but being much softer was a lot easier. Sedimentary rock splits quite easily using wedges. It is thought they used precussion
and expansion wedge techniques.
