The film of J.R.R. Tolkien's trilogy - dubbed The Lord of the Ka-chings by some wags - won 11 Oscars at last night's ceremony in Hollywood to tie with Titanic and Ben-Hur for the most Academy Awards.

The Oscars included the plums best picture and best director for Peter Jackson. It also won for art direction, costume design, editing, make-up, music (score and song), sound-mixing, visual effects, and adapted screenplay.
