It depends on what type of rice you plan to store. White rice will last considerably longer than the brown varieties. Brown rice has a high fat
content in the hull that goes rancid with time.
Both stored under identical conditions (cool, dry place in oxygen-free containers), white rice wil last about of 2-3 years, and brown rice a year or
less.
As for the canned meats, you can safely estimate 4-5 years. If you coat the cans with wax, you can extend that time by a couple more years. The wax
prevents the cans from rusting. Any type of wax will do.
