Gorbachev: US could start new Cold War

 Mikhail Gorbachev has accused the United States of mounting an imperialist conspiracy against Russia that could push the world into a new Cold
War.
With Dmitry Medvedev due to be inaugurated today as Russian president, the Soviet Union's last leader said that the White House's claims of peaceful
intentions towards its former superpower rival could no longer be trusted.
Delivering one of his most scathing attacks on the US, Mr Gorbachev told The Daily Telegraph that a US military build-up was under way to contain a
resurgent Russia.
From Nato's expansion plans in the former Soviet Union to Washington's proposals for a bigger defence budget and a missile shield in central Europe,
the US was deliberately quashing hopes for permanent peace with Russia, Mr Gorbachev said. (visit the link for the full news article)

Very good possibility that there will be a new cold war emerging in the very near future ... I'm starting to wonder if the U.S. wants to go to war
with the world.

Military build up??? Is he talking about the carriers in the Gulf region or is he saying we are creating more military hardware?If it is the latter I
have to laugh at his statement then. The U.S. is always upgrading their stuff and replacing old with new and improved.....but a military build
up...hardly.I don't see tanks or planes lined up or being transported down the road.Now look at Russia here they have been touting some of their
missiles and equipment in a recent military parade at red square.Then we have the Chinese not hiding the fact they are in turbo drive building up
their arsenal...Gorby is just still peeved that the cold war was lost under his watch...looks bad on him to some in his circle probably.

Already done.... it's called the "War on Terror".
It's aim is to rid the world of a mythical beast that can at will rear it's ugly head in any part of the world to instill fear into everyone.
This Phantom Menace knows no bounds or laws, and reminds people periodically he's still here to stay in mysterious video tapes, which usually surface
before elections or congressional hearings.
He apparently receives support from everyone and anyone, countries or individuals, yet nobody knows where he is...
He's well armed and dangerous, despite the fact he's over 50 years old and has severe kidney problems.
He is inspiring people all around the world to join him and kill for his cause; yet he has no contacts with the outside world and no bases or camps to
rally his supporters in.
The perfect nemesis to make sure the US doesn't loose it's global hegemony after Communism fell. With this Phantom appearing at any time America
wants to distract it's public from crippling domestic issues, he somehow manages to instinctively provoke America just the way they want to be.
With US Military expenditure now over $600 billion dollars per year and making up 46% of Global Expenditure, it seems Phantom is even more successful
than the Soviets were at scaring the US, he's claimed the "International Noble Bogeyman Prize" in every year since 2001, and that used to be
a well-defended title.
