Source: Obama starts VP search

www.cnn.com

Barack Obama is beginning his search for a running mate, but Sen. John McCain's campaign denies speculation that he's interviewing vice presidential candidates at his home this weekend.

A veteran Democratic activist told CNN that former Fannie Mae CEO Jim Johnson has accepted Obama's request to begin a screening and selection process for the No. 2 spot.

Well, this was probably going to happen at some point. If what is being said is correct, and he is considering a banking CEO, what will that mean? That the banks will get even more power, and swindell even more money from the working stiffs?
That aside who do you think should be a choice for Obama's running mate?

I don't know if Obama would be that stupid to get a banking tycoon running with him in the state we are in right now. If he does, then my support of him will drop tremendously.

As far as who he should have, I think either a woman or Richardson would be better decisions.

I pray that it isn't going to be Hillary. Other than that, I don't think it will make much of a difference. I expect it will be a woman though to try and bring in the Clinton supporters.

I started this thread a while back -
www.abovetopsecret.com...

At the time, these three people were being rumored as possible VP choices by Obama -

Arizona Governor Janet Napolitano
Kansas Governor Kathleen Sebelius
Missouri Senator Claire McCaskill.

(at this point - my bet would be on the Missouri Senator)

"a woman" ... you think he should choose the Vice President based upon gender?

I'd prefer based upon ability.

I think Richardson already has the Secretary of State slot (good choice)
I think Edwards has the Attorney General slot. (bad choice)
Those are my guesses.

Fannie, you should know me well enough by now to know that's not true. I was saying who I think he will pick, and Janet Napolitano is my #1 guess. And, as Karlhungis already said, it would probably be wise to go with a woman to pick up several of the Clinton supporters.

Please don't try and make it sound as though I'm an idiot, I don't appreciate it.

That's what it sounded like to me. But whatever.

Why did you think Janet Napolitano is a better choice then Clare McCaskill??

I'm making a prediction, I'm not really saying who would be better or not.

I'm making it off of news media I've been listening to. It sounds as if Obama and Janet are close and it seems Obama has made it clear that he thinks very highly of her.

Like I said, just a guess.
