Jesse Ventura Interview - ATS MIX Show 82

Today (May 21, 2008) Johnny and I did our long awaited interview with Jesse Ventura (See Member Question Thread). Originally scheduled for a maximum of 45 minutes as he had other pressing things, Jesse so enjoyed himself and the comfort level that we did almost an hour.

Johnny and I didn't want to ask the same o, same o BS that mainstream media had done, so we took Jesse down a path that he absolutely loved and had deep passion for.

Jesse talks in depth about his Navy Seal days in Vietnam, his missions, his Hong Kong R & R, his childhood, his wrestling career, his controversial tenure as Governor of Minnesota, his meeting with the CIA plus tons of other surprises that will blow you away. As expected, he came with guns a blazing about the issues and positions that he cares deeply about. We also asked him as many ATS Member Questions as we could before his publicists literally dragged him off the phone with us.

Johnny and I walked away at the end, knowing we had been in the presence of someone who is deeply passionate about the common man and woman and the screwing that they are taking on a daily basis that for 4 years when he was in power, did everything humanly possible to stand up for those that never thought any politician would EVER do what they said they would do.

We will be putting this interview up on Friday May 30, 2008 ATS MIX Show 82. Mark your calendars, this is one hell of a ride with the Jess-A-Nator.

Alright! Kinda bummed I have to wait 9 more days to hear it but I think I'll live.
Jesse is one of my favorite people in the world of politics. I can't wait to hear him talk about his life before politics. Once again good job Dave and Johnny!

Cool... well done for scoring an interview with Jesse.

I can only hope to hear him utter the 'bunch of slack-jawed faggots' line (from Predator) as a description of certain people in government.

Jesse and 'Ol Painless, what a great combination!

He talks quite a bit about Predator and some Hollywood secrets. If you loved that movie, you will love what he has to say about Apollo Creed!

So you have the interview in the can, why not put it up already? Why the nine day wait?

Because we have already post produced the show for this week. We do interviews and post them the following week normally because it takes a bit to do post production for quality reasons. Our shows are 90 minutes and Jesse is around 55 minutes of it.... we have the Skeptic Overview, Mad As Hell, Rants or whatever to make up the 90 minutes and it all must be edited and equalized and come out at exactly 90 minutes. THAT is why.

I heard a few minutes he did with Howard Stern today - pretty much hogwash. Howard and his crew are basically clueless about 9/11 but they did debate it for about five minutes. At one point Howard said "That's just crazy" in reference to something he said. Then totally derailed it by asking if he had been to a hooker or some such nonsense.

From your words I assume you guys did a little better. I'll listen when it's up - thanks!

OK, I didn' log in,but wanted topost a quick reply.

(1) How can I hear the interview? No offense, because I love ATS, but If I have to pay to hear it, guess I'll miss out. Thank the economy for that!

(2) Sounds like JV is going to run against Frakin & Colmen in the Minnesota Senate Race based upon his Larry King interview. I know I'll vote for him! I just cant vote for either of the others, being Frakin has tax / legal issues, and Colemen was a a war deserter. Not that it says to much, but he was also a rock band roadie (which I have been) and my father worked under him when Colmen was Mayor of St Paul - he screwed alot of things up - but he did bring a new Hockey Staduim to St Paul with tax payer money (under the table IMO)

When Jesse was Gov of Minnesota, I loved it, and he knew what he was doing and what he was talking about. Many people gave him grief (politicians,media,etc) but he also put them in their place and eventually stopped doing interviews to the M Media because they askes such stupid questions and trying to bring him into somethig he was against.

I hope he joins ATS

You've just touched on one of the things I like so much about the ATS media projects. Because we are NOT bound by mainstream 'standards,' we can go places with our lines of questioning that nobody expects.

No offense to Howard, but the would be step-son shock jock is clueless to what the passions and hunger that the ATS Membership has. I can assure you, Howard didn't talk about the CIA, 9/11, The Nam or the dozen or so other topics that everyone else didn't and wouldn't ask.

When I talked to Jesse's publicist Jen, I told her that I had listened to the interviews that are up on the internet with King and the others.... and by the second one, I was answering the host's questions before Jesse could because it was the same cookie cutter PR crap. I think another reason Jesse extended his time with us is because he and I are both Nam veterans and were there about the same time. Jesse has always been an extreme supporter of the troops, like myself, without supporting the war or conflict the government has them engaged in.

You all are definitely going to love his candor, his humor.... but most especially his humanity.

I absolutely love this guy!

Frickin Awesome!!! I love Jesse, even if I dont agree with all he says he seems honest. That makes me want to hear all he has to say.
