Militarized Police Celebrate Killing Americans

www.prisonplanet.com

Gary Roberts, a veteran Army tank driver in the 80's, relates to us the fact that the two figures etched into the side of the US M113 Armored Personnel Carrier denote "kills," as in how many people the SWAT unit has killed. Roberts appeared on The Alex Jones Show today to confirm the fact that Midland County police are apparently so proud of the people they have murdered, they feel the need to emblazon it on the side of their souped-up tank.

Police state trying to scare people or just a SWAT ego's going over the line of good taste? The comparison between this emlbazons on SWAT APC and the WWII pilots, drawing flags on their airplanes, of how many enemy fighters they have shot down is kind of sickening. After all, we are not dealing here with the entire Nazi armada of Tiger tanks and Focke-Wulf fighters, but with people of America.

Just a dumb move by a SWAT team that's ego & old west ideal driven. It's like notching your bedpost to mark bedding a chick, notching the butt of your rifle to mark getting a deer or elk, or in the old west gunslingers notching the handle of their pistol to mark how many people they'd shot. Certainly unprofessional for the police to do it, but it really is nothing more than an example of immaturity and bragging.

I don't know...each Nazi flag represents a German fighter pilot that is a human being with a family.

Perhaps putting up Nazi flags on the side of the plane was indeed a bad idea.

It's embedded in our culture to make these types of symbols as a measure of success. I remember my childhood football days we'd put stickers on our helmets for each tackle recorded in our games.

If these people are putting symbols on their equipment for each person they kill then they consider killing people a success in their mission. That tells me something is seriously wrong with these people and perhaps more wrong with the way they are trained and rewarded.

Dead persons in the wake of law enforcement should be viewed as a failure of the justice system and at the very least something kept behind closed doors and not celebrated in public or viewed as a success.

A real measure of success is how many people quit doing crime or how the crime rate is lowered - of course then we wouldn't need as many cops any more - so their only interest is maintaining a war zone instead of solving crime.

Really? You do know that other countries do the same thing on the sides of their aircraft, tanks, etc.

And if the US was Nazi, we'd have cooler looking uniforms. You do know that they'd have won WW2 if it were a fashion show.
