The press and giant oil would like us to believe it is those bad old speculators causing all the woe. While speculators do have impact it is the oil
giants that are kicking back with havanna cigars counting unprecedented profits in the back rooms laughing at us hapless saps as we live on soup. I
want cheap, available electric cars available to all!!!

I'd prefer hydrogen fuel cells, so long as the infrastructure used to create the hydrogen is engineered on a German scale... that is to say
excessively and beyond necessity. Only then shall we have true freedom of movement, where a man does not have to calculate the cost of his travels.

For that high of octane the PPG is not all that bad. 93 runs you around 5.25 USD a gallon?

I live in Brisbane Australia, the state government pays a fuel subdisy of 8.7 cents per litre to keep our prices down but the greedy fuel companies
cheat the system.
We are now paying today $1.49 p/l for unleaded.
It will only get worst now if the US goes ahead with a suggested naval blockade of Iran which is posted on one of my other post link is below.

Here in Tasmania, the servo up the road from me are currently charging $1.61.9c/Litre
The Aussie Dollar is currently worth just over $0.96c for a USDollar, so that makes it $1.56c per litre (approx, rounded down)

Actually 4.54 litres per gallon, so do the math Much cheaper in the US...
I would assume that in the US they'd use the US gallon rather than the Imperial gallon.
1 US gallon = 3.78 litres compared to Imp gallon = 4.54 litres
So that makes $1.56c * 3.78 = $5.89 per gallon

Here in the Twin Cities, Minnesota it's about $3.90 a gallon. I just filled up tuesday for 3.60 and it's sad that I'm glad about that price.

Grand duchy of Luxemburg
98 oct 2,039 USD / liter = 7.7482 USD/gallon
95 oct 2,020 USD / liter = 7.676 USD/gallon
diesel 1,996 USD / liter = 7.5848 USD/gallon
2/3 of the fuel sold go to cars from neighbouring countries (we have 140.000 borderers coming to work here everyday for a national pop. of +-
450.000)

Around $11.32 US. A gallon
$11.32 US a gallon??? That's insane! Why are your prices so high there?
I am in Arizona, Phoenix area and I think we are at around $3.65/gallon for regular no-frills unleaded. I try not to complain too much- I am lucky
that I just got a job working from home, so I don't go through near as much gas as I used to.

AGENT_T's calculations are based on the Imperial gallon. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but don't you guys in the US use the US gallon?
The difference being the US gallon is only 4/5 of an imperial gallon. So unless I'm very much mistaken, the actual figure is around $9.37 per gallon.
Still that's extremely expensive..
