When did they switch from Insurgents to Al Qaeda ?

I was driving to work the other day and happened to be listening to ABC Radio News here in Australia and I nearly drove over an embankment when I heard the News Presenter say that Al Qaeda forces had attacked an American Unit in Iraq.

Since when did the insurgency "Buzz" word they were using transform into Al Qaeda ? how stupid is the average Joe Blow on the street to fall for this bait and switch tactic ? well my whole car pool did so I guess it worked.

Sometimes I think people want to be fooled so they can get on with their simplistic life and relax knowing that Big Brother has total control of everything and they shouldn't worry.

I was under the impression that Sadr's Army ( which is Iraqi ) was providing all the resistance to the imperial invaders and not Bin Laden..guess alot of people are easily fooled.

That piece of gibberish has long evaded me. Like saying anti abortion or prolife. Spin at its finest.
