Archivist's Notes: DRV vessel T120 warned of 2 destroyers in the vicinity. Part of the message was corrupt and it also made reference to T120 towing T133 - possibly - and T136.

DRV vessel T120 is warned of two destroyers.

Part of the message is corrupt. Then says T120 is currently towing T336 and possibly T333.


This interception was made on august 7th, a few days after the Gulf of Tonkin Incident. The Gulf of Tonkin Incident caused the first large-scale involvement of U.S. armed forces in Vietnam.
