Okay, I have known of this site for a long while, and read some topics on the site as they are interesting. I live in Britain, and require some of your opinions and so on.

Okay, for GCSE, I have a project to do and the question is : What would happen to the human race if we were all the same?

As my essay is for the science, I think the obvious is that it would like me to make the point of that the majority of my things will be science related. Eg Food change and struggling to adavance in technology. But, I think that it would be great If I could quote some of your opinions and thoughts to give my essay a bit more depth.

So please guys!

What would happen to the human race if we were all the same?

You really want my opinion?

Human society as we know it would crumble within days.

If you mean all the same as in biologically like clones then some event or other would wipe us out pretty quickly, some virus would adapt to become a global killer - maybe flu, without genetic variationand random mutations we would pretty much be wiped out.

but in a global system we could never be the same - there is far too much variation in terrain and climate etc, I wonder what would happen in a closed system though, if you could somehow put identical clones in a colony totally closed off from the world - what would progressive generations look like.

If we were the "same", different experiences that give us the thought process for change, inventions, adaption, etc. would stop. Humanity would stagnant.

There is a difference of being the same and treated the same. America, despite all the deniers and anti-America propaganda, does attempt to treat all people equal and the same. We are the only country that makes this statement with a straight face.

There have been forms of governments that tried to treat all the citizens the same. Socialism is a form of this as well as communism. Treating all people the same discourages the desire to succeed to to prosper. This may not be an example you want to use, but just a thought.

Don't forget that the gene pool needs to be of a certain size and have variation.

If everyone was the same, the gene pool would be extremely limited and within a few generations humans would die out as a result of birth defects which arise from having too small a gene pool.

This is why it's illegal to have kids with your sister or brother.

Except in Norfolk
