Sharia law states a Muslim father must pass his religion to his son. Barack Obama's father was a devout Muslim. Nevertheless, that is not something I am pressing. Stick to the topic at hand.

I want to know where the funding will come from for this new plan. My assumption is that I will have a lack of choice about my taxes being raised to pay for all these new insurance policies and subsidies.

I wish all of the candidates would lay out some details on how the cost will be dispursed. Will there be cuts in other areas of the budgets? Will some of the wasteful and needless departments be done away with?

I just see everything he wants to do is expanding government and adding more regulations. His watchdog program for private insurances, if not handled correctly, will increase the cost of private insurance by adding new regulations that will cost the insurance companies money. They will not just eat the cost, it will be passed down.

AAC. Always read an article before you ask why someone posts what they do.

Rather hilarious seeing the front page of the newspaper here spouting '75000 strong crowd' turning out for obama holding up signs with 'change' written on them.

Yes.. everything will change and USA will be a happy vibrant place...

No. It won't. More of the same I'm afraid.

Ron Paul looks like the only choice I can see to be honest...

This guy is over-hyped and coddled by the media to the highest degree. The media portrays this Obama as being divine.

Example:

www.observer.com...

“I’ve been following politics since I was about 5,” said Mr. Matthews. “I’ve never seen anything like this. This is bigger than Kennedy. [Obama] comes along, and he seems to have the answers. This is the New Testament. This is surprising.”

(Chris Mathews of the "CIA corporate controlled right-wing media")

Then you get Obama going preacher on us washington post

"I am going to try to be so persuasive, so that those of you who are still wavering...will suddenly come to the conclusion -- a light beam will shine through -- will light you up -- and you will experience an epiphany -- I have to vote for Barack!"

Sorry but I have not experienced the epiphany.

Obama has a suspicious past just like any presidential candidate but what gets to me is that the media has hyped other things in the past (war on Iraq, dot-com boom, housing-bubble, Y2K) and it turned out to be a sham. Call me cynical but my mistrust of media hype has seriously affected my views of Obama.

Barack Obama's policies that are supposed to be of "change" are just leftist agendas that is normal for any liberal democrat. Obama's method of "unity" is making himself look divine by combining Rev Wright's preaching techniques, media cooperation and applying that to an American people that is hungering for a leader. The equation is too good to be true.

This guy has the tools of Hitler. A cooperative media, a mass appealing communication technique, an inflated ego, a population that views itself as beaten up, and personal racist associations. All we need now are thugs to beat up any competition and he is set.

His issues are more of the same- increase-the-size-of-government-and- raise- taxes-for-the-rich (liberal politicians view any American as rich accept their supporting special interests.) Interestingly with this politically correct culture, Obama can easily push policy based on the color of his skin. It is easy to predict that any opposition to a President Obama will be labeled as racist (heck its already happening.)

Obama as some sort of savior is utterly rediculous. It should be obvious to most he is not even good at what he does. He uses lines from his competitors (e.g. the "just words" speech and quotes wasn't his to begin with. A competitor of his used it before in a contest he lost).

Now he wears the Flag pin, and should be a huge Red Flag to anyone who isn't gulliable, ignorant or one in the same. Comapring him to Kennedy is an insult to Kennedy.

Today (or yesterday) he gets on TV saying to "lay off my wife" and he will not stand for this anymore (criticism of her), and continues with "not even one more time". What's he gonna do about it? File a complaint? Give me a break.

To boot, the silly woman reporter says "I wish more men would defend their wives like that, that was really nice .." It is really lame.

I'm scratching my head over why people think he is so great ...goes to show you, you can pretty much hype anything or anyone now-a-days.

You then get these dumb rappers like 50 cent putting in their lame comments, like they even know much about anything.

I thought you were joking with the sources above, and then saw it was real people who you quoted. Unbelievable.

Who exactly is he uniting?

I'll take a crack at it:

racists, socialists, marxists, and retards.

Well, that must be the majority of Americans because, he sure is beating Mccain , as well as Clinton, in General match up polls. Right now he's got Mccain by at least 6-8pts... the past couple of days have been kind to him.

It's funny, a controversy comes out like the Wright thing (twice!), right before something big is gonna happen, like the PA primary, and yet.. give the man a week and he's back on top, back in the lead again.

The OP is right, he can't be stopped.. but thats only because WE CAN'T BE STOPPED this time, not by people like slackerware spewing hate, trying to generalize everyone as a stereo-type. This way he can hate anyone he wants..

It'd be like me saying "Mccain is a uniter of Masons, Luciferians, Illuminati scum, rich bankers, rich neo-cons, cheaters, vote-riggers, war mongerers .. and SHEEPLE." Because thats what the Republican base is 80% roughly .. sheeple, sheep-people, its the same retards that voted Bush in twice!

You people talk so much crap, but conveniently forget that its the Republican base that voted the worst of the worst, Bush .. in twice! This is unforgivable, all GOP supporters are permanent morons for this and have lost all credibility.

What's truly sad is that John Mccain needs a script and many rehearsals at Saturday Night Live TV Studio, just to deliver 3 or so lines that make him look halfway humorous and charismatic... this election is going to be funny. Mccain will be trounced so badly that people will compare his weakness to Bob Dole, lol.

I think If Obama is elected pres. and Hillary gets the #2 slot, there will be a real conspiracy to look into, that is after Obama is assasinated.. Hilary Rodham Clinton, 3 names there.. and the Clinton Machine already has a history of suspicious deaths surrounding them...
Just my opinion, thought I would throw that out there...

I have nothing against indians.

He isnt uniting, he gave a speech to a particular voting bloc.

Nothing special, or admirable about that.

Exactly, its nothing more than vote banking.

Obama is using his status as a minority to further his political campaign.

McCain will be using his veteran status to draw in the military vote.

Hillary will be using her gender to her advantage.

As a super skeptic, major moderate, and indigent independent, this politician's campaign song should be "The Great Pretender", a '50s ballad that really says it all. He'll pander to anyone.

Now he's falling on the sword of "pity me, pity me, whitey done me wrong like he's done you but I can fix it." HOW? How is he gonna fix imaginery evils, right false wrongs, and do so much change in a position that he can only suggest and propose?

He's not the Great Uniter if he's dividing America along racial belief lines like he is. Whats his strategy against a Middle East that will start arguing with the destruction of Israel and settle for nothing less? Whats his strategy for an economy where outsourcing is more preferable than job creation? He has a lot to do and damn if he isn't taking on more all the time.

He's not the Anti-Christ for he's the Great Pretender.

i pissed off a relative about obama vs Ron paul which im for Ron Paul and hes for Obama, he tells me the truth about not serving my country in the military, mainly because my dad did, and i have body issues which i choose to attribute to his exposure to certain orange things they sprayed their.

but also because i think war is for people who never made it past reason and logic. I mean how #ing sensless is it to start wars or to finish them, its always the death machine on either side..

So people should just stop being so commanding, and remember the F8 we share, its sink or swim america. Either we agree to disagree, and work together, or we war..civily or otherwise, and end up losing it all because we fell into the trap of distraction.

this subversion psychology infecting us is easy to dissect from the proper perspective of it. Self edification is the disease. To be seeking and unsure is to be on the right track. People who want certainty are understandable but misguided and force others into a cult like mindset forever influencing their outcome later.

we must all acknowledge life is not the facade of cityscape or housing systems we make, which are high maintenance and illogical at this point with the abilitys we have today. If Americans can show the world around why hate, opression, and killing in any manner is illogical and anti-productive, it would set the example and at the least in any circumstance leave the seed in the minds of the people of what a country with good intention can do, with the seed of light, knowledge, love and peaceful intent can do for the suffering, and free them from tyrant men who have conformed into beasts.

That is exactly what I've been wondering/thinking. Also this man denounced his grandmother but has embraced his racisted preacher. What does that tell you about him?

So, cynicism aside, what is it about Obama that makes people believe that he won't take steps to unite the nation?

I've heard comments that he'll racially divide the nation, but the only way I see that happening is if those who truly don't want to racially unite divide themselves.

So please, explain why he has no chance of taking steps to unite.
