Can you predict every song and everything everyone is going to say to you? If not, then maybe you're just focussing on the "hits" and ignoring the "misses", which will completely skew your perception of your abilities. Heck, if you aren't consistent, your "gift" isn't useful in the slightest, as only with recurring accuracy could it be of any use.

Dave... could Beckham - or Pele, or Maradona, or Beckenbauer, or any celebrated goal-getter of your choice - score every single time they hit the ball towards the goal?

Not only they could not - in fact, they score(d) very few times, comparatively.

Does that mean their ability to score is, in fact, non-existent?

Well, if you are French, LanceDamien, then you should absolutely enjoy Moisset's website (to which the link in my earlier message leads)!
He has, of course, a French version of it, and it's much better than the English version.
