i think they buried it after the Civil War..

after all, think about all the people who would not be citizens let alone hold a position in government..

"If any citizen of the United States shall accept, claim, receive, or retain any title of nobility or honour, or shall without the consent of Congress, accept and retain any present, pension, office, or emolument of any kind whatever, from any emperor, king, prince, or foreign power, such person shall cease to be a citizen of the United States, and shall be incapable of holding any office of trust or profit under them, or either of them."

this applies to almost ALL of our Government people!!

they all have broke one or more in this amendment..

so..not to many people could read then..

communications were slower..

easier to say it was not ratified.. when it was, and printed up until 1950 in the Colorado Constitution btw..

and more & more printings are found every month..

PS why is this in the Highly Speculative section when it can be proved to be included in several States Constitutions for at least 50 years after?

that seems highly speculative in itself.

bad form ATS, bad form..
