Conyers On Rove: "We'll Hold Him In Contempt"

www.huffingtonpost.com

Just off the House floor today, the Crypt overheard House Judiciary Committee Chairman John Conyers tell two other people: "We're closing in on Rove. Someone's got to kick his ass."

Asked a few minutes later for a more official explanation, Conyers told us that Rove has a week to appear before his committee. If he doesn't, said Conyers, "We'll do what any self-respecting committee would do. We'd hold him in contempt. Either that or go and have him arrested."

YES...YES...YES!!!

Its about bloody time.

I am so sick and tired of this administration holding itself above the law.

Could it possibly be that congress is growing some conjons in the waning days of this oh so corrupt administration, and is starting to assert its constituitional rights and responsiblities again?

If so its long overdue and sorely needed.

NAIL ROVE'S SORRY ASS TO THE WALL!!!

Haha, I posted this here yesterday--For some odd reason it got moved to the political forum.

This is a story to keep an eye on. Rove is as dirty as they com, the list of criminal activity this guy has been behind is obscene. And I couldn't agree more with Conyers---He Does need a serious a** kickin'.

Too bad BushCo already prepared for this contingency. If anyone honestly thinks Congress can get the Bush-crony-run Justice Department to carry out an arrest warrant for Rove they've got another thing coming. I'm guessing there will be some last-minute chicanery to keep Karl off the stand...

I believe the Bush administration (as well as pretty much every other administration) is pretty corrupt, but what is it that Rove has done?
I don't like him, but what crimes has he commited? Can someone please enlighten me?

Well, Dimension it seems that you were at least once late to the game.
Ever since Speiglman (sic) (never get his name straight) anyway,
This has been news since the 60 minutes show a while back.
The big news is that you all get to watch a real Watergate unfold before your eyes. This is Mulbury v Madison type thing and its 2008. This is head to head fight between 2 branches of government. Rove is as important to this issue as Mulbury was about his getting arsed out of his judicial position.
If Congress mans up, then Rumsfeld, Rice, Cheany, and even Bush better make sure their passports are current.
This story is the string to be pulled to unravel this administration. There is no more important story and it is just now getting some wings.
Someone get Keith Oberman on this, that would help.
Now...especially you Dimension, watch how our government works. You have said enough crap about how it is all some sham, some NWO crap. You do not get to be a cheer leader on this one. This is how AMERICA is suppose to work...just sit back and watch.

Jimmy, have you ever seen a puppet show where someone is working the strings. Well, Rove and Cheany are/were the ones operating Bush. Bush doesn't have a clue about anything. Rove is KGB of Republican party.
But lets not lose track of this other villians when this all goes down. Wolfiwitz too. There is plenty of love to go around.

Sorry, Jimmy, that was all rant wasn't it?
find the 60 minutes show...on youtube I bet. He put away the former governer of Alabama Spieglman because he was a Dem. I thought I was going to lose my mind after watching that show and not one MSM said boo about anything. But don't lose the big picture, this is coming down to the Executive branch against the Legislative branch.....just like back in the day when the Judical branch had the show down with the Executive branch in Mulbury v Madison. One man, Justice John Marshall, saved the judical branch. I kid you not, one man.

No that wasn't a rant, that was just a good honest question, I really have no idea what Rove has done.
Can someone give me a link to some of his crimes or something?

He has done several things... this threat of inditment is based on the (at least circumstancial) evidence that he had a hand in getting the Alabama governor imprisoned for corruption on trumped up charges... to eliminate the Democratic threat to a traditional Republican stronghold. Then there is again circumstancial evidence that he had a hand in the firing of those DA's because they weren't going after enough Democrats for various charges... he is essentially an unindited co-conspirator in the whole Valerie Plame affair and so on. Then there is the case of missing e-mails that are required by law to be saved etc.

In Essence he has done his best to politicize the government whenever possible in favor of the Republicians and if you stood in his way he would get rid of you somehow.
