So OBL surfaces again, just when dubya needs him most - coincidence, reality or complete fabrication?

Does OBL even exist, and if he does, how is he able to make and post audio and previoously video at will?

Some suggest that he's sitting in a CIA safe house somewhere, and trots out his masters spiel on command.

Others think he's dead, and has been for some time.

One thing we do know - it suits BOTH sides to trot out these pronouncements.

Coming soon will be OBL's ties to Iran - the perfect excuse to bomb them.

I'll go with fabrication, since I believe the real OBL is either dead, or if alive, just a scapegoat anyway.

I remember when MSNBC flashed a full screen picture of his face, BEFORE the second Twin Tower was even struck. It was pretty clear right then that he was being used as a scapegoat. How could MSNBC know and claim it was OBL before the second tower was even touched? Anyhow, I have to get to work.

The article raises a very good question: despite OBL's and AQ's interest in the Palestinians (assuming for the sake of argument that both he is alive and AQ exists), then why isn't there an active AQ presence in Gaza?

Ionized i have never heard of this OBL picture on MSNBC. Are there any links available to look into this. It interests me

Sorry I don't know of any links to this on the internet, though I have heard from people on ATS that others saw it too. I will recall what I remember for you:

My housemates and I were getting ready to go to campus that morning for our classes. We had MSNBC on, and they were saying how 'there is evidence that OBL played a role' as they showed a full screen image of his face. This was within 15 minutes of the first tower being struck if I recall correctly, and was most definitely BEFORE the second plane hit. The talk about OBL continued right up to when the second tower was struck. At that point I had to go to campus, only to find that all classes had been canceled and also to find huge groups of people staring at the TVs around campus completely mesmerized by what they were being shown and told. Even heard people talking about OBL. It was absurd.

It was great propaganda though, flash a full screen image of a mans face while saying he did it, right in the midst of everyone being emotional. Seed the idea that it was OBL, and when that second plane hits people will already know who to hate. There were a lot of basic psychological techniques at play.

OBL And President Bush, used the 60th Anniversary as a springboard for their own agendas.

The neo-cons want nothing more than to turn the presidential election debate toward foreign policy. They think that it's McCain's only strong suit, because it damn sure isn't the economy, immigration, health care or education.

That is a very good point. If Israel occupying Palestine was really the reason for the attacks, why isn't there an al Qaeda presence there? Why haven't they ever attacked Israel or any of their embassies?

Gets one thinking.

It does seem to be convenient timing for another tape release as well.

edit to add: I found an article that said that Hammas claims they do not want help from al Qaeda. Maybe thats why, but then why go around saying they will attack Israeli supporters for the people who say they don't want their help?

I'm calling hoax.
OBL is a tool the media is using to create fear and cause confusion. It was funny when I watched FOX this morning and they were talking about the OBL tape and said how it had not been analyzed yet by officials and was therefore not proven to be authentic.

Then with the same breath the female reporter on FOX made the statement that some believe that the tapes are fake and she said that we should not believe that and said they are real.

Its nice to see all we need is the opinion of a FOX news reporter to corroborate the authentication based on mere speculation.

Its odd that they would make it a point to mention that and try to convince us to believe. Its so obvious that we are being played for fools and they think we can be lied to so easily.

Either he DID exist and is dead now ... or he's in very sorry physical shape and only manages to squeek out voice recordings. There hasn't been any new VIDEO of him. Only audio. His followers could be stringing together 'new' messages too.


That IS a major part of what the POTUS is supposed to be taking care of.


UBL and his minions will use any excuse to keep the battle up. They'll use the so-called 'Palestinian' issue or the fact that the Saudi Royal Family isn't muslim enough .. whatever. They will always have a beef with somebody over something. It'll be never ending and appeasement tactics won't work either.

How convenient. This seems to be another pentagon ploy to keep a perpetual war going. Osama(Or Tim Osman) is our guy, and we're never going to catch him. because he's not really a terrorist, he's our plant in the middle east to continue war of aggression for profit and resources that don't belong to us.

A simple explanation? Al-Qaeda has its own agenda that doesn't involve the Palestinians. They're simply using the Israel-Palestine issue as a recruiting tool, nothing more.

It may not be the correct explanation, but it is a very plausible one.
