Hi All,
disclaimer: Haven't seen this posted yet, sorry if I missed it. A search on ATS showed up nothing so I posted it here.
Anyways, this is a sighting from London, England from may 7th, the day that the 'British X-files' where revealed. A Woman named 'Roberta' claimes
to have seen a drone-like thing flying over.
ON the day that the British 'X Files' were sensationally revealed, The Sun has uncovered another unexplained UFO sighting.
...
Roberta said: "I saw this thing, which looks like a jellyfish, from my window between 8.30 and 10pm.
"It was my first thought that it could be a kite or a balloon, but it moved completely defying gravity.
link to the articles: here and
here
If you look at the pictures, it looks like a drone with exceptionally long tentacles. Onfortunatley, there is nothing to compare it's size to, but
it's 'tentacles' seem to be at least a couple of meters long.
It reminded me of two things: the sentinels from the Matrix and of a comic that is quite popular here in Holland: suske en wiske, english name Spike
and Suzy. In the comic, robots looking a bit like this try to invade the world to convince humanity that it should live in peace and harmony.
Let's hope that's what this robot is about, because for some reason it creeps me out more than the regular UFO shot.
On the other hand, it could be all trickerey of course.
Opinions, anyone?

Yes it does. But as the whitnes says:
"It was my first thought that it could be a kite or a balloon, but it moved completely defying gravity.
"The 'thing' did not move like a kite."
Has anyone else heared of this sighting?

Oh no...not the Sun again, please...
This rag of a paper is usually found stuffed down the back of builders trousers or dropped on the floor of public toilets.
Please take anything this paper says with a big pinch of salt.
I've hated the style and the efforts of reporting and the smut that this paper has pushed out for years.
It was only made famous because of its very popular page 3 item during the 70's 80's.
If this story starts to pop up elsewhere in more 'defined' sources then this might be worth looking into further. but as it stands, that object
could be absolutely anything.

Yeah, I know the Sun is not exactly the most reliable source in the world. On the other hand, you won't ever see stuff like this in the times or
anything. At least they post it. But yes, it can be anything.

Great, just what the community needs - another "UFO sighting".
Its a terrible picture of what obviously looks like a balloon with multiple strings attached - that or a kite.
It seems to me that the Sun is the forerunner in destroying the credibility of the UFO community. They can state whatever lies they wish and get away
with it. Unfortunately alot of people actually read this garbage - I suppose it reflects how bad society is in general

On the other hand, what does the community need then according to you? Society has become so ssceptic nowadays. Take a look at 9-11 for instance. My
sister was in New York when the plaines hit the twin towers. She saw both of the planes hit the towers with her own eyes, just as numerous others did
and still people are discussing if the second plane even exists.
I think that if there are no sightings reported anymore people will say: "See? It was all swampgas or the mushroom from the night before. All
humbug."
Morale of the story: it's never enough...

Yes you are right about the fact that the UFO topic is getting more attention but there is one one type of attention that I like and thats the
positive type. The Sun ONLY vomits out the negative type, the stuff that only serves to discredit the entire subject.
You might say bad publicity is better than no publicity, but in this case when the pictures are so obviously fake and no-one, not even the readers of
the Sun are stupid enough to fall for it (look at the below comments in the Sun article), its a bad thing.

cappuccino, thank you for your thread, well layed out, BTW:
but i'm quoting dodgygeeza because i feel exactly what he/she feels:
The Sun is giving a BAD NAME to what we do here.
Brit UFO fever is flying sky high
A UFO spotted off the coast of Wales on Google
UFO snapped over Thames
New Cornish UFO sighting pic
UFO plays and displays

Yeah you are right of course, in my initial enthousiasm I kinda ignored the obvious facts. Not in the least part because I the way I would investige
earth if I where an alien is with drones. I'm actually writing a short story about it. So those kind of sightings have my special interest,
especially because you don't see them much. On the other hand, maybe an Alien drone looks like space ship, who knows?
thanks for the compliment btw!

Poor Roberta.
"It was my first thought that it could be a kite or a balloon, but it moved completely defying gravity".
I would suggest that most things that have a habit of staying airborne are defying gravity

Actually I was not, nor was it my intention to mock you.
I was though mocking the witness in the news story which is bad form I know.
Still you never know The Sun might even print something worthwhile one day so always keep an eye out.

Exactly my thoughts when I opened this post!
Please folks,if there is a bigger debunker of
this subject in the UK than the Sun lies-paper,
then I`ve yet to hear about it!
Yes it may have the odd story or photo
of an alleged craft, but they usually turn out
to be mundane or a fake or they just simply extract
the urine out of the phenomenon.
It`s right wing lavatory paper, and I put them up their
with the fakers and liars that infest youtube!
